The World Poker Tour (WPT) Online Series is now into its final week, and headlining a massive weekend on partypoker was poker superstar
Jason Mercier (cover image). The five-time bracelet winner booked a six-figure score of $279,265 and an online WPT title as he beat out a field of 101 entries in the $10,300 PLO High Roller!
To say that the final table was stacked would be an understatement. Runner-up finisher Linus Loeliger alongside Swedish legend Viktor Blom, online phenom Yuri Dzivielevski, and John O’Shea were all in the running for the title.
In the $1,575, Six-Max Bounty Hunter, Frank Lillis bested a field of 269 entries to take home a hefty $75,388, with Philipp Hofbauer (Eight Max $1,050 for $59,700) and Pablo Brito (Event #50 $530 Six-Max Turbo for $21,170) rounding out the other title winners at the series.
There are three prominent tourneys currently underway. The $2,100 PLO Knockout should be wrapping up soon, it’s down to the five-handed final table with Sam Higgs in the lead.
The last of the flagships at the ongoing series, the $1,050 buy-in WPTDeepStacks $3 Million GTD, has completed seven of its 10 starting flights. So far, the event has garnered 1,695 entries, with Day 2 slated for May 26.
The mini-version of the event, the $109 buy-in WPTDeepStacks $1 Million GTD, has completed nine starting flights.
The $10,300 buy-in PLO High Roller drew 101 runners, generating a $1.01 Million prize pool. Only the final eight made it to Day 2 with high-stakes cash games specialist Linus Loeliger bagging the overnight chip lead.
After carrying forward the third biggest stack, Jason Mercier was another top pro in contention behind Leoliger and Yuri Dzivielevski. He would go on to pip all others to secure the title win.
