The inaugural World Poker Tour (WPT) Online Series came to a close on Sunday. The 56-event series ran from May 3 to May 31 on partypoker and featured 10 Championship events. One of the biggest winners at the series was Sweden’s Christian Jeppsson, who had taken down the $3,200 Online Championship title 10 days back for $924K after striking a heads-up deal with Viktor Ustimov.
The most prominent winner on the closing weekend of the series was Brazilian pro Rodrigo ‘selouan1991’ Selouan, who beat out Dimitar Danchev head-up to win Event #55: $1,050 Weekender $500K GTD for a career-best $151,725. This victory has boosted his online winnings to over $3 million. The 2013 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure champion Dimitar Danchev settled for a runner-up prize worth $107,950.
Barry Hutter (Event #54: $1,575 Bounty Hunter 8-Max $500K GTD for $94.57K), and Russia’s Sergei ‘Futti18’ Koliakov (Event #56: $530 Closer $500K GTD for $68.55K) were the other prominent winners this past weekend.

The $1,050 buy-in Weekender $500K GTD drew 850 entries across three starting flights to surpass the $500K guarantee and garner $850K in the prize pool. The final day began with 115 survivors, and among them, 104 places got paid.
In the end, Brazil’s Rodrigo ‘selouan1991’ Selouan beat Dimitar Danchev head-up to win the title and collect a personal-best $151,725 payday.

The $1,575 buy-in Bounty Hunter 8-Max $500K GTD attracted 369 contenders to accumulate a prize pool worth $553,500.
Barry Hutter topped the field that included his heads-up opponent Joao Vieira to collect the winner paycheque worth $94.57K ($42,400 in prize money and $52,172 in bounties).
This happens to be Hutter`s fourth-largest WPT cash to date and one that has pushed his lifetime WPT cashes to just over $1 Million. The runner-up Vierra walked away with $67.96K ($42,345 in prize money and $25,617 in bounties).
The star-studded final table featured partypoker ambassadors Kristen Bicknell (4th for $26.54K) and Ludovic Geilich (6th for $17.20K).

The final event of the series, the $530 buy-in Closer $500K GTD logged in 1,181 entries, to generate a prize pool worth $590K.
Once all was done and dusted, it was Russia’s Sergei ‘Futti18’ Koliakov who defeated Stoyan Obreshkov heads-up to win $68.55K ($39,737 in prize money and $28,820 in bounties). The runner-up Obreshkov banked $51.80K ($39,677 in prize money and $12,127 in bounties).
