The 2023 World Poker Tour Prime Cambodia has three days of tournament action left to unfold. The frenzy to claim the Main Event Day 2 seat brought a packed house of players to the Nagaworld Integrated Resort in Phnom Penh on Saturday.
As expected, the last starting flight of the $500K GTD Main Event was the most well-attended. The Day 1C heat drew 482 players, ramping up the attendance to 1,011 players – falling a little short of the 1,050 entries recorded at the last edition. This resulted in a staggering prize pool of $980,670, making it one of the most lucrative tournaments in the region.
The chip leader for Day 1C was USA’s Joshua Zimmerman, with a stack of 789,000 chips, equivalent to 79 big blinds (BBs). Nevan Chung (650,000 – 65 BBs), Matthieu Lamagnere (550,000 – 55 BBs), Natural8 Ambassador Pete Chen (533,000 – 53 BBs), and Yunsheng Sun (460,000 – 46 BBs) were other players finishing at the top of the totem pole.

Day 2 will bring the 128 survivors from the three flights together for the first time, where the plan is to play down to a final table of nine players. India’s Arun Sriram (888,000), who bagged the Day 1B chip lead, is the player in charge heading into the Sunday session. Vitalii Borodin (870,000) and Day 1C chip leader Joshua Zimmerman (789,000) are the other top contenders chasing a final table berth.
Other than Sriram, 17 other Indian players will be returning on Sunday. These include Young Gun Shardul Parthasarathi (509,000), Alok Birewar (474,000), Harsh Bubna (407,000), Kunal Patni (354,000), Young Gun Gaurav Sood (345,000), Chiraag Patel (271,000), Jasven Saigal (236,000), Raju Jaruplavath (230,000), M Shyamsundar (194,000), Amit Kaushik (147,000), Romit Advani (146,000), Ashish Ghosh (119,000), Young Gun Siddharth Karia (100,000), Vikaash Shah (98,000), Dhaval Mudgal (90,000), Abhijith Cheruku (50,000), and Young Gun Anmol Mehta (41,000)
