The World Poker Tour (WPT) Spring Festival ¥10 Million GTD (~US$1.5 Million) WPT Main Event is chugging along at full speed on Asia-facing operator Poker King. Day 1B recorded 1,094 entries – a slight dip from the 1,318 entries on Day 1A – and after the stipulated 18 levels of play, 260 survivors made it across to Day 2.
With the field crowded with Chinese players, most of the top stacks were bagged by them for the second day running. The day’s chip leader amassed a massive 541,059 stack, with the second-in-chips progressing with 496,094 in chips.
Four bounty players played Day 1B, and only one among them, Jean-Robert Bellande, managed to survive the day. Bellande collected a pot towards the end of the day to bag an above-average 333,689.

The remaining three bounties on WPT Executive Tour Director Matt Savage, WPT Commentator Tony Dunst, and Poker King brand ambassador Tom Dwan were claimed. Late registrations were kept open until Level 14. By then, Dunst had exited while Savage had just entered. Savage’s run didn’t last long as he busted out within 30 minutes, with Dwan quickly following him to the rail.
Players who knock out a bounty player earn ¥1,500, and we’re expecting to see a new group of pros with bounties in action at Day 1C. Some of them who are yet to enter the Main Event include Poker King brand ambassador Phil Ivey, Nick Petrangelo, Andy Milonakis, Daniel Dvoress, and Celina Lin.
Adding up to the 1,318 entries from Day 1A, the Main Event has already registered 2,412 entries – slightly less than half the turnout required to meet the 5,000-player guarantee. So far, 525 players have qualified for Day 2. The third and final starting flight starts at 7.30 PM CST today.
Players are permitted to fire up to three bullets in each starting flight.
The final table is slated for February 22. The action will be live-streamed exclusively on PokerGuru in India, with bracelet winner Nipun Java and Mohsin Charania calling the action in Hindi. You can watch the live-stream on our Facebook page.
