In June, World Poker Tour (WPT) announced a new partnership with Wynn Las Vegas for the WPT World Championship to be hosted at the iconic casino. While the WPT had sent out feelers that the series would be the biggest guaranteed tournament festival in poker history, the full schedule of events was made public yesterday.
The 23-event series will run from December 1 to 22, promising a jaw-dropping $22 Million in guaranteed prizes.
The $10,400 buy-in World Championship will headline the action, featuring three starting flights running on December 12, 13, and 14, with the final table to play out on December 20. The final table action will be broadcasted across all WPT and Wynn platforms. Sporting a $15 Million guarantee, the World Championship is the largest guaranteed tournament in history.
Speaking about the upcoming event, WPT CEO Adam Pliska said, “Our goal is to develop the WPT World Championship into one of the most talked about events of the year.”
The WPT also tweeted the schedule announcement.
