Running alongside Day 4 of the 50th-anniversary special WSOP Main Event was Event #78: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Bounty. A total of 1,130 players registered on July 9, riding well past the previous year’s attendance of 833 entries. There were several Indian pros in the mix and three of them, namely, bracelet winner Aditya Sushant (215,300 – 134 big blinds), Kunal Patni and Minissha Lamba (100,700 – 63 big blinds) managed to bag a stack for Day 2.

The frontrunner among the three Indian`s is Aditya Sushant who is chasing his second gold bracelet in the event. Las Vegas is now familiar territory for the Chennai-based Sushant who has been a regular here for the past several years. He was among the early arrivals at the WSOP this year and almost immediately posted his first score with a 229th place finish in Event #9: $600 NLHE Deepstack. His best run this year has been his 13th place finish in Event #28: $1,000 NLHE for $17,409 (~₹11.93 Lakhs). Sushant’s attempt to make it through the Main Event lasted as long as Day 2C where he fell out mid-way through the day. Diversifying into PLO events, Sushant has been playing a few PLO events, and he holds the 25th largest stack of 215,300 (134 big blinds) in this event heading into Day 2.

The other Indian advancing to Day 2 is Kunal Patni. The former banker was only a day before this seen playing Day 2 of the $1,111 Little One for One Drop where a brutal bad beat ended his run prematurely. The seasoned pro was quick to get back on his feet and carries with him 173,900 (108 big blinds) to Day 2 in the event. As an added bonus, Patni was seated alongside his long-time idol and poker superstar Daniel Negreanu, who incidentally is also advancing to Day 2!

Completing the Indian trio is Bollywood actress-turned poker pro Minissha Lamba. She picked up her first-ever WSOP score this summer in Event #50: $1.5K Monster Stack where she finished 252nd for $5,005 (~₹3.42 Lakhs). She also made it to Day 2AB of the Main Event but wasn’t able to make it to Day 3. In the PLO Bounty, Lamba will be returning with 100,700 (63 big blinds).
