The 2021 World Series of Poker (WSOP) announced another first-time bracelet winner in David Moses (cover image), who outlasted a massive 5,252 entrants in Event #70: $888 Crazy Eights to take home a shiny bracelet and a personal-best $888,888. Sejin Park`s chase for a second career bracelet ended in a runner-up finish for a $400,888 payday.

David Moses now boasts of over $1.26 Million in recorded live earnings.

After the event, Moses informed reporters that he had been laid off during the pandemic and had started playing poker regularly only after that. Moses said, “Everybody wants a bracelet. They asked me if I wanted a picture of it when we got heads-up, and I said I’ll get a picture when I win. Just being honest, the money mattered a lot more. It’s a huge amount of money for an eight-hundred-dollar tournament. It’s life-changing money. I’ve got two amazing backers. The series has been kind of rough, but it’s definitely not rough anymore.”

The Day 2 chip leader Leonid Yanovski (5th for $102,888), three-time WSOP bracelet winner Georgios Sotiropoulos (6th for $79,888), and Day 1D chip leader Farhad Davoudzadeh (8th for $47,888) also FT-ed the tourney.

The vast 5,252-entry field helped generate a $1,771,108 prize pool and paid 237 places with the min-cash good for $2,762.

Three Indians made the money list, including seasoned pro Sumit Sapra (52nd for $7,255), high stakes cash game pro Shashank Jain (145th for $2,920), and Young Gun Siddharth Karia (219th for $2,762).

Indo-American Tarun Gulati also cashed in 209th place for $2,762.
