The 2021 World Series of Poker (WSOP) awarded two online bracelets on Sunday. Being played virtually on WSOP.com, Event #8: $7,777 NLHE Lucky 7’s was taken down by Estonia’s Aleksejs “APonakov” Ponakovs (left cover image), who picked up his first bracelet for a $432,491 payday. The event registered 230 entries, and the top 36 places got paid from the $1,696,710 prize pool.

Yuliyan “Dr.Feelg00da” Kolev (right cover image) from Bulgaria came out on top in Event #9: $777 NLHE Lucky 7’s to whisp away the WSOP gold bracelet and $146,162 in prize money. Tim “uNORTH0doX” Reilly finished runner-up for $90,321. The event logged in 1,122 entries, and the $785,400 prize pool was shared among 167 players.


Aleksejs “APonakov” Ponakovs Wins WSOP Online Event #8: $7,777 NLHE Lucky 7’s For $432,491

Estonian poker pro Aleksejs “APonakov” Ponakovs clinched his career-first WSOP gold bracelet on Sunday, as he took down Online Event #8: $7,777 NLHE Lucky 7’s for $432,491. Canada’s Jaroslaw “johnnyloveit” Jaskiewicz finished runner-up for $267,232.

According to his Hendon Mob profile, the online poker star Ponakovs has $482,574 in live tournament earnings to his name. The win marked his 13th ITM finish in a bracelet event and his seventh in an online event at the series, boosting his WSOP tally to $1,485,718. He played the online event from Nevada as only players geo-located in Nevada and New Jersey could participate.

The $7,777 buy-in event drew 230 entries (183 unique and 47 rebuys) to create a $1,696,710 prize pool. The top 36 places got paid with a min-cash worth $11,877.

Notables who made it in the money include Winamax Team Pro Romain Lewis (11th for $23,584), Ali Imsirovic (17th for $15,949), 888poker Ambassador Dominik Nitsche (26th for $13,574), four-time bracelet winner Ben Yu (24th for $13,574), three-time bracelet winners Georgios Sotiropoulos (36th for $11,877), Winamax Team Pro Adrian Mateos (25th for $13,574), and one-time bracelet winners GGPoker Ambassador Jason Koon (20th for $13,574), Natural8 Ambassador Pete Chen (22nd for $13,574), Daniel Smiljkovic (27th for $13,574), and Alan Sternberg (29th for $11,877).

Qinghai “011pokerdr” Pan (3rd for $183,754), William “SlaweelRyam” Romaine (4th for $128,780), former bracelet winner Dylan “sobchak67” Linde (5th for $92,131), Rainer “vict0r4gal1” Kempe (6th for $68,207), Sergio “zcedrick” Aido Espina (7th for $51,071), Christopher “WATnlos” Robin Frank (8th for $38,176), and Arian “4632647” Stolt (9th for $29,692) FT-ed the event.

Event #9: $777 NLHE Lucky 7’s logged in 732 entries who made an additional 390 re-entries to accumulate $785,400 in the prize pool. The top 167 places walked away with a payday, and a min-cash was worth $1,178.

Bulgaria`s Yuliyan “Dr.Feelg00da” Kolev was the last player standing and won $146,162 after besting Tim “uNORTH0doX” Reilly (2nd for $90,321) in the heads-up play.

Kolev only recently won a $550 NLHE event at The Wynn Fall Classic and sits on over $1.63 Million live tournament winnings.

On the final hand of the event, Reilly moved all-in with , and Kolev made the call with . Kolev was trailing but spiked a king on the runout to win the event.

The only former bracelet winner on the final table, Raman Afanasenka, finished seventh for $18,300.

Jeremy “Koach” Dresch (4th for $45,867), Chau “s0s0dizzy” Nguyen (8th for $13,823), and Connor “connb” Boyle (9th for $10,602) also FT-ed the event.

Justin “LappyPoker” Lapka (37th for $2,984), YouTuber Johnnie “johnnievibes” Moreno (78th for $1,649), and poker commentator Jamie “DanBilzerian” Kerstetter (105th for $1,256) posted a deep run as well.
