Daniel Zack (cover image) clinched his second WSOP bracelet after topping a record field of 196 players in Event #15: Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship at the 53rd annual World Series of Poker (WSOP), winning a staggering $440,757 from the $1,827,700 prize pool.

Zack had to work hard to add a second bracelet and his heads-up battle with Dustin Dirksen went on for a marathon seven hours, with Zack eventually prevailing.

Zack, who had won his maiden bracelet in Event #6: $2,500 Limit Mixed Triple at the 2019 WSOP, later said, “I think bracelet one meant a lot to me because I grew up watching the World Series of Poker and it really meant a lot. But this will be a final table that is much more memorable to me, especially with it being streamed. If I ever have the wherewithal to watch this back, it will be quite a night.”

Even after the long-drawn match, Zack had little time to celebrate, as he later informed, “I have to fly to a wedding in maybe a few hours, so I’m about to hop on a plane. I’ll be back and chasing player of the year while I’m here. So I’ll be hopping in whatever is next and trying to chase that as hard as I can.”

Friday marked Day 4 of the event and had five contenders returning to the Bally’s, Las Vegas, one final time to play down to a winner – all of them guaranteed at least $105,913. Leading the charge was two-time WSOP bracelet winner Yuval Bronshtein, who fell out in third place for $195,203.

Some notables who had made an ITM finish on Day 3 include poker veteran Freddy Deeb ($32,209), Poker Hall of Famer Todd Brunson ($26,986), and Mike Matusow ($16,165).

Jake Liebeskind was the first player to succumb on the final table.

With Leibeskind gone, the game slowed down a bit. The subsequent elimination took another two hours of play, with Ray Dehkharghani falling out in fourth place shortly after the first break of the day.

The start-of-the-day chip leader Yuval Bronshtein fell out shortly after that in level 26, leaving Daniel Zack and Dustin Dirksen to battle it out heads-up for the bracelet and the $440,757 up-top.

Heads-Up Chip Counts

Daniel Zack – 6,595,000

Dustin Dirksen – 5,175,000

Final Day Recap

The heads-up was an arduous to and fro battle. Daniel Zack was constantly accenting two hours into the match, but the game turned into a marathon.

The heads-up madness continued as Dustin Dirksen doubled up twice in 10 minutes in the 27th level. Hands like full houses and flush were regular occurrences during the showdown. Dustin Dirksen even turned a Royal Flush.

After continuous exchanges in the chip lead, Zack finally settled scores by eliminating Dustin Dirksen and picked up his second WSOP bracelet in the process.
