WSOP 2022: Gianluca “InMyHouse” Speranza Wins Maiden Bracelet in Online Event #12: $5,300 NLHE High Roller Freezeout Encore ($324,625)

The 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online Event #12: $5,300 NLHE High Roller Freezeout Encore was one of two online events powering down to a close on Sunday morning! After almost 12 hours of non-stop play on WSOP.com, Italian poker pro Gianluca “InMyHouse” Speranza overcame the 245-entry field to win the coveted WSOP bracelet and $324,625 in prize money. Paul “rungood27” Scaturro came second for $189,875.

Gianluca Speranza booked his 43rd WSOP cash (his ninth of the series) with the win, improving his WSOP tally to $1,680,863. His career-best finish is the €853,000 (~$901,691) he won for taking down the 2022 PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) €25,000 High Roller.

The $5,300 buy-in High Roller drew 245 runners, generating a prize pool worth $1,225,000. The top 35 places were guaranteed a payday with a min-cash worth $8,575.

The field was replete with top pros, and many of them finished in the money, including two-time bracelet winner Taylor “galactar” Paur (18th for $12,250) and former bracelet winners Kenny “yoppuh” Huynh (14th for $15,925), Julien “StepUpPoker” Perouse (24th for $9,800), Joey “Buffblastin” Couden (31st for $8,575), and Andrew “WATCHGUY42” Lichtenberger (34th for $8,575).

The three-time bracelet winner Paul “paulgees” Volpe bubbled the FT (9th for $20,825).

Joining Lopez on the rail next was Event #83: $50,000 High Roller NLHE winner & Winamax Team Pro Joao “WinamaxPT” Vieira in sixth place. His failed to get past Michael “mikejozoff” Jozoff’s .

Soon after, Jakob “SilenZium77” Miegel was eliminated in fifth place after his had a fatal collision with Paul “rungood27” Scaturro’s .

Bracelet winner Kazuki “hyahhoo3” Ikeuchi went crashing out in fourth place. Hewent all-in with and was called by Paul “rungood27” Scaturro with . Scaturro spiked a Jack on the board, ending Ikeuchi’s run.

Eight minutes later, Michael “mikejozoff” Jozoff was eliminated in third place after his went down against Paul “rungood27” Scaturro’s .

Paul “rungood27” Scaturro (3,296,063) and Gianluca “Inmyhouse” Speranza (2,828,937) were both having fairly even stacked at the start of the heads-up, but the former pulled ahead quickly and never looked back.

On the last hand of the tournament, Paul “rungood27” Scaturro four-bet shoved , and Gianluca “Inmyhouse” Speranza called him with . The board ensured Speranza’s queens held up, getting him his maiden gold bracelet.
