The 2022 WSOP Online Event #7: $500 NLHE Deepstack was one of two events powering down to a close yesterday! After 12 hours of non-stop play on WSOP.com, Sane “Ooohwee213” Chung from Los Angeles, USA, overcame the vast 2,162-entry field (including re-entries) to win the coveted WSOP bracelet and $149,729. For Chung, this was his first recorded cash in the WSOP.
Chung defeated Dylan “Aurelius” Smith heads-up to win the title and did so after delivering a brutal bad beat, cracking the latter`s pocket aces by hitting a runner-runner straight. Smith collected $92,553 in second place.
The Indian contingent in Las Vegas entered the event in good numbers, and three among them finished in the money. Young Gun Neel Joshi posted the deepest run of the trio, cashing $1,167 (~₹92,535) in 143rd place for his fifth cash of the series (25th WSOP cash overall).
PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish Ahuja (192nd for $973, ~₹77,151) and cash game pro Akash Malik (204th for $973, ~₹77,151) picked up their first cash at this year`s series.
The top 330 places won a share from the $972,900 prize pool, and a min-cash was worth $778.
Indo-American Shankar Pillai (61st for $2,238), Upeshka De Silva (110th for $1,265), Daniel “Brett_Favre” Zack (63rd for $2,238), Jamie “DanBilzerian” Kerstetter (69th for $1,849), and Daniel “Dnegs” Negreanu (176th for $1,070), were some notables who finished in the money.

Matthew “Nibbles99” Pierce was the first final table casualty and fell in ninth place after his were cracked by Sane “Ooohwee213” Chung’s who hit trip tens on the runout .
Shortly after that, Ryan “Lovemy11cats” Belz hit the rail in eighth place.
After Belz, Jeffrey “Goodfellas2” Ditanna departed in seventh place. His failed to hold on against Dylan “Aurelius” Smith’s as the latter made two pair on the board.
Eight minutes later, three-time bracelet winner Nick “CashUsKlay” Schulman fell out sixth. With the flop open , Schulman moved all-in with and Sane “Ooohwee213” Chung called off with . Schulman had outs to an open-ended straight draw, but the turn & river blanked out for him, ending his run five places short of a fourth bracelet.
Next on the chopping block was Vuong “Luckyboy201” Do. On the board , Do’s were up against Sane “Ooohwee213” Chung’s . Do needed help but got none on the river and exited in fifth place.
After a few minutes, Kevin “kingkung99” Kung crashed out in fourth place after lost the race to Sane “Ooohwee213” Chung’s .
Less than 15 minutes later, Smith eliminated Kahlil “dripseason1” Francis. With open on the board, Dylan “Aurelius” Smith ripped it in with and Francis made the call with , putting his tournament life on the line. The on the river kept Smith`s top pair ahead, ending Francis’s tournament run in third place.
Entering the heads-up match, Sane “Ooohwee213” Chung (34,971,504) held an almost insurmountable chip lead over Dylan “Aurelius” Smith (2,988,496), and soon it was all over. On the final hand, Smith bet 2 Million from the small blind, and Chung moved all in. Smith snap-called.
Smith had Chung dominated and looked poised for a double-up as the flop kept him firmly ahead. However, the poker gods had other plans, with Chung hitting a runner-runner straight as the completed the board to take down the event!
