WSOP 2022: Yevgeniy “Kazak132” Minakrin Champions Online Event #9: $1,000 Bracelet Championship on WSOP.com ($238,315)

Yevgeniy “Kazak132” Minakrin (cover image) won the ninth online bracelet event of the 2022 WSOP in the early hours on Monday, Online Event #9: $1,000 Bracelet Championship. The Minnesota resident outran a massive 994-player field to collect his maiden bracelet and a $238,315 cash prize. Moldova’s 2019 GPI National Player of the Year Dragos “luxifer03” Trofimov made away with a career-best $147,585 in second place.

Several former bracelet winners landed in the money but couldn’t stretch their run to the nine-handed FT, namely, Chris “russhanneman” Dombrowski (14th for $10,893), Shaun “fortnite” Deeb (16th for $8,635), and Joseph “biueberry” Cheong (18th for $8,635).

Other known players who ran deep enough to cash were Jared “Bearbuck” Ingles (12th for $13,815) and Kou “mn_finest” Vang (15th for $10,893).

The 994 entry field in the single-day event generated a juicy $1.32 Million prize pool, and 207 places got paid with a min-cash worth $1,461.

Final Table Recap

First up, “CA_MTNeer” opened, and Jeffery “Steelvikes7” Hoop 3-bet jammed with , Dragos “luxifer03” Trofimov woke up with and moved all-in over the top, getting “CA_MTNeer” to lay down his hand. The board ran , and Hoop fell out in ninth place.

Around 15 minutes later, Dragos “luxifer03” Trofimov got dealt another superior pocket pair and knocked out both Houston “DeadMoney843” White (8th place) and Matthew “MDInvest” Davis (7th place) in one go! Davis moved all-in with , and Trofimov 3-bet jammed pocket kings. White called with , risking his tournament life. The board ran , and Trofimov raked in the pot with pocket kings, busting the two players.

Soon after that, David “Iamyorfather” Gonzalez open-shoved with , and “lewismurray” re-popped it with . The rest of the table folded, and “lewismurray” took down the pot after the community cards opened , busting Gonzalez in sixth place.

After less than 10 minutes, “lewismurray” opened from the cutoff, and “CA_MTNeer” announced all in with . “lewismurray” called flopped trips on the runout to take down the pot. “CA_MTNeer” exited in fifth place after the brutal beat.

The quick pace of eliminations didn’t slow down as just 10 minutes later, Matthew “Muckdat” McDowell busted. McDowell open-shoved , and Yevgeniy “Kazak132” Minakrin looked him up with pocket kings. Minakrin hit a set on the board , eliminating McDowell in fourth place.

“lewismurray” ’s bracelet run ended in third place. He limped in from the small blind with , and Dragos “luxifer03” Trofimov in the big blind jammed with . “lewismurray” made the call and was the player at risk. The board ran [3h], and Trofimov won the pot with his better kicker.

Yevgeniy “Kazak132” Minakrin (15.31 Million) and Dragos “luxifer03” Trofimov (14.20 Million) commenced the heads-up match almost neck-to-neck, and all it took were 20 minutes for Minakrin to lock in the bracelet.

On the final hand of the event, Minakrin limped in with , and Trofimov opened the pot with . Minakrin jammed, and Trofimov called. The board ran , and Minakrin flopped trips to take down the pot and his career-first WSOP bracelet!
