WSOP Confirms 12 More Events For 2020 Run

Last week, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) had announced the details of its upcoming edition, confirming that the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino will once again be the host venue for the summer run of WSOP 2020 that will run for 51 consecutive days starting May 26! Accompanying the announcement was the confirmation that the $10,000 Main Event Championship, the BIG 50, and the Seniors Championship, will all be making a return in 2020.

In a blog post dated December 19, Seth Plansky, Editor-in-chief at WSOP.com, gave away dates for another 12 events, filling out some marquee events that have all been part of the WSOP schedule in the past and will be returning again next summer.

So which events have been additionally formalized as part of the WSOP 2020 schedule? Classic WSOP favorites like the Millionaire Maker, Colossus, Monster Stack, Tag Team, Mini Main Event, Super Seniors, Ladies Event, Little One for One Drop, Crazy Eights and The Closer are all coming back to make their annual run.

“While we are still putting together the 2020 WSOP schedule in its entirety, we have cemented the key No-Limit Hold’em events that anchor it all,” said WSOP Vice President Jack Effel.

He added, “We hope this announcement right before the holidays can help you lock in travel plans so you can join us at the Rio in Las Vegas for the 51st running of the WSOP. We will continue to fill out the rest of the schedule and provide updates as we progress.”

The WSOP 2020 Schedule So Far

Like in the past, the WSOP kicks off with the $500 buy-in Casino Employees Event on May 27. Headlining the opening weekend will be the $500 buy-in BIG 50 NLHE that will run starting flights from May 28 to 31.

Action will pick up considerably through June with confirmed events like The $1,500 Millionaire Maker (June 5-6), $1,500 Monster Stack (June 12-13), $10,000/ $1,000 Ladies NLHE (June 17), $1,000 Seniors NLHE – Age 50+ (June 18), $1,000 Double Stack (June 19 – 20), $1,000 Super Seniors NLHE – Age 60 (June 22), $1,000 Tag Team (June 22), $400 Colossus (June 24- 25) and $1,000 Crazy Eights 8-Handed (June 26-27), all making the 2020 schedule.

 

$10,000 Main Event Championship

The $10,000 buy-in Main Event begins on July 1 with three starting flights till July 3, while Day 2 is scheduled for July 4. The Main Event will play for consecutive days, with the final table to be televised on ESPN/ ESPN 2 from July 12 to 14.

Running alongside the Main Event will be the $1,111 Little One for One Drop (July 4-6), while the $1,500 The Closer (July 10 – 11) will once again close out the series!
