The GGPoker leg of the 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) $10,000 NLHE World Championship has run through all of its three starting flights. Day 1C ran on December 6, and as expected, with an entry-field of 257 entries, it recorded the largest turnout of all three flights. At the end of the stipulated 16 levels of play, 75 players carried a stack to Day 2.
Considering the 246 entries on Day 1A and the 171 registrations on Day 1B, the GGPoker WSOP Main Event recorded 674 entries, generating a prize pool of $6,470,400.
The 179 survivors (Day 1A – 62, Day 1B – 42, Day 1C – 75) will now be converging for Day 2. starting at 6 PM GMT on December 7. The play will be halted once the final table is formed, with the final nine players scheduled to converge at King’s Casino in Rozvadov on December 15.
The Indo-Canadian poker pro Senthuran “Prodigal Sen” Vijayaratnam (966,714) bagged the most-massive stack on Day 1C. He propelled himself to the top of the chip counts after eliminating Samuel Vousden with his pocket queens getting the better of the latter`s sevens.
Vijayaratnam boasts of a sizable $324,608 in live career winnings, $34,632 of which he has won at the WSOP over the years. He is a very active player online and banked an impressive 10 scores at the GGPoker.com WSOP Online series earlier this year. His best payday at the tourney was the $18,098 he won from his 293rd place finish in Event #77: $5,000 NLHE Main Event.
Even though Vijayaratnam fell short of riding into the million-plus mark in stacks, he is the runaway chip leader in the tourney and way ahead of Day 1A chip leader Julian “VWgunther” Menhardt (534,490), and Day 1B chip leader Blaz Zerjav (639,394).
UK’s Jesse “sabor_de_mar” Wigan (642,276) and Russia’s Viacheslav Buldygin (480,671) carried forward the next top stacks from Day 1C.
There is a long list of notables moving ahead from Day 1C. This includes names like Hannes “BlackFortuna” Speiser (207,247), Daniel “BaccaratKing” Neilson (197,336), Vladas “Vladiator13” Tamasauskas (174,785), Christopher “Mangudai” Frank (172,637), Sung Joo “ArtePokerTV” Hyun (150,564), Alexandru Papazian (143,477), Alexandros Kolonias (112,663), Stoyan “UncleToni” Obreshkov (83,699), Ludovic “Gr4vyB04t” Geilich (72,780) and Josip “MagicKing” Simunic (51,359).
With all the entries now tallied, the payouts structure has also been formalized. The min-cash is worth $15,277, while each of the nine finalists on the FT assured at least $75,360. They will all be playing for the biggest prize on offer, a $1,500,969 payday, along with the opportunity to play the heads-up finale with the WSOP.com Main Event champion on December 30 in Las Vegas. There is an additional $1 Million, the gold bracelet, and the title of the 51st WSOP World Champion reserved for the ultimate winner.
