The ongoing 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online series taking place GGPoker and Natural8 has been on a record-shattering run. One of the more hyped up events at the series, Event #48: $1,500 MILLIONAIRE MAKER, had brought in a massive 6,299 challengers that helped create a juicy $8,976,075 prize pool (almost 2x the posted GTD).

After three days of non-stop action that included an extended six-day-long hiatus, Candian high stakes pro Daniel Dvoress (cover image) laid hands on his first career bracelet and a staggering $1,489,289 in cash prize. This is amongst the biggest-ever cash rewards awarded in online poker history!

Widely considered among the top poker players in the game without a bracelet, Dvoress is notoriously famous for skipping the WSOP live events in Las Vegas each year. The pandemic and the subsequent shifting of this series online presented him with the perfect opportunity to win a bracelet – something that could have taken a lot more time coming in the ordinary course of things.

Even the runner-up, Brazil’s Caio “Ez4ENCE” De Almeida banked seven-figures worth $1,072,428.

Resuming play after a six-day-long pause to accommodate for live streaming of the FT on Saturday, the tourney started with Dvoress holding a dominating chip lead.

Bot Marley (11th for $77,534), Thiago “grigopoker” Grigoletti (13th for $55,831), Yigit “MMartian” Aktulga (14th for $40,204), Michael Addamo (16th for $40,204), Sam “JejuKingCrab” Razavi (19th for $28,951), and Isaac Haxton (20th for $28,951) were some players who had busted short of the money last week.
