The ongoing 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online handed out its 10th bracelet on GGPoker on Wednesday to none other than Kristen Bicknell (cover image). The Canadian pro had won the GPI Female Player of the Year (POY) title for the third straight time last year and happens to be the top-ranked female player in the world.
Bicknell had two WSOP bracelets under her belt before entering Event #44: $2,500 NLHE 6-Handed. Sailing past a tough field of 892 players, Bicknell was among the shorter stacks on the final table and had a swingy ride coming into the heads-up play. She caught a crucial bluff in the heads-up to take over the chip lead and ride across the finish line. The victory brought her bracelet #3, $356,412 in prize money, and the distinction of becoming the first woman to win a WSOP bracelet on GGPoker!
Talking to PokerNews after the win, Bicknell said, “I’m shaking right now! I’m celebrating with some Uber Eats orders for a buffet lol.”
There were at least three Indian players reported in the tourney, Neel ‘Neel’ Joshi, Ravali ‘Resurge-‘ Krishna and Dhruvin ‘pokerplayer’ Kothari.
The tournament generated a $2,118,500 prize pool. The money bubble burst in Level 16 with Natural8 Team Hot Ambassador Pete Chen ending up falling in 117th place to leave the remaining survivors in the money for at least $6,022.
Norbert ‘ElCabanero’ Szecsi (14th for $15,958), Ben Affleck (15th for $15,958), and Danny Tang (21st for $11,697) were some of the confirmed ITM finishers.
Two hours after the bubble, Christopher Kruk was eliminated in 10th place by Ilya Anatsky, setting up the final table.

Final Table Recap
Nikita ‘SanyaRostov’ Kalinin and Paul ‘Doduckduck’ Barnes were the first two casualties on the final table.
There was a round of double-ups scored by Bicknell, Belarmino ‘Iseey0urcard’ De Souza, and Patrick ‘Pepsi_zero’ Semrau.
Soon, Patrick ‘Pepsi_zero’ Semrau and Jerome ‘gorgiAAs’ Finck hit the rail in seventh and sixth place.
Bicknell caused the elimination of Simon Higgins out in fifth place with her ace-king flopping top pair versus Higgins’ pocket tens. Even though the verdict was already out, Bicknell further rivered a flush to cement Higgins’ ouster.
Less than five minutes later, Dong ‘nuoyani’ Jiang became Bicknell`s next victim in fourth place. Jiang had the upper hand with ace-king, but Bicknell’s ace-jack found a jack on the flop.
Ilya Anatsky lost a couple of crucial hands before running his pocket deuces into De Souza’s ace-four. The latter rivered a straight to end Anatsky’s run in third place.
Belarmino ‘Iseey0urcard’ De Souza set out with a commanding 15.84 Million stack versus Bicknell’s 6.454 Million at the start of their heads-up match.
In what was clearly the turning point in the heads-up, Bicknell caught the latter’s bluff in one hand where De Souza put her all-in on the ten-nine-five-seven-trey board with three hearts. “I had to really contemplate what to do here. If it was a normal heads-up, I would have called a lot quicker. But because this is for a lot of money and a bracelet, I really wanted to think about what his ranges were. He shoved so quickly on the river, it was a timing thing,” she later told PokerNews.
Holding a pair of jacks, Bicknell made the right call in the end and took over the lead, never to look back.
The final hand didn`t take long coming. De Souza check-raised Bicknell’s 200K bet on the flop . Bicknell called to see the turn card open . De Souza led out for 1.06 Million, and Bicknell called. The completed the board, and De Souza jammed for 3.57 Million. It was off to the races with Bicknell making the call.
