WSOP Online 2020: Lithuania’s Gediminas Uselis Wins Event #76: $400 Forty Stack NLH For $227,186

We have now entered the final week the 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online, currently underway on GGPoker and Natural8. And the most recent bracelet tournament to crown a champion was Event #76: $400 Forty Stack NLHE. Lithuania’s Gediminas “NeverGambol” Uselis (cover image) outlasted the 4,461-strong field to win his first gold bracelet and a career-best $227,186.

Uselis has $330,000 in recorded live winnings headlined by a ninth-place finish at the 2019 WSOP $888 NLHE Crazy Eights for $82,130. He had cashed thrice at the ongoing series before entering the event and had to fire three bullets before making it to the finish line.

In the heads-up play, Uselis defeated Andrew “PaxRomana” Wilson, winning a WSOP Europe package and the top honors.

The top 548 players were guaranteed a share of the $1,677,336 prize pool, and a min-cash was worth $960.

GGPoker Ambassadors Pete Chen, Felipe Ramos, Kitty Kuo, Sergey Rybachenko, Kosei Ichinose, Daniel Negreanu, and Michael Soyza were among the long list of players who hit the rail empty-handed before the money bubble.

Richard “Catch22s” Samson, Joel “Mintzy” Nystedt, Patrick “CocoTheDog” Mahoney, and Christopher Kruk were some of the players who cashed in the event.

Kazuhiro “propofol-san” Shirasawa (14th for $7,474), Martin “Buntspecht” Erdmann (16th for $7,474), Fabrizio “UknowWhoIam” Gonzalez (17th for $7,474), Georgios “Klein Mein” Kapalas (18th for $5,285), Silvio “valterzao” Costa (19th for $5,285), Paris “Paris D” Dedes (20th for $5,285), Leonid “LeBroHbKA” Logunov (21st for $5,285), Artur Martirosian (22th for $5,285), Vitor “CoutoNuts” Coutinho (24th for $5,285), and four-time winner Brian Rast (26th for $5,285) were others who posted a deep run.

The elimination of Gleb “IamMVP” Tremzin (10th for $10,570) got the final table started.

Andrew “PaxRomana” Wilson was the start of the FT chip lead with a stack of 46,476,442, while Uselis was carrying the third-biggest stack of 23,264,839.

Final Table Recap

The first elimination took just 10 minutes coming, with the short-stacked Nicolau “dezefaixa” Villa Lobos hitting the rail in ninth place.

Before the first break of the final table, Guilherme “Forest trump” Dos Santos lost a massive pot with pocket kings to Uselis’ ace-queen. Santos couldn’t recover and busted in eighth place shortly after that.

In minutes, Michelle “CallTheFloor” Roberts and Yucheng “Xyc666” Xiao fell out in seventh and sixth place, respectively.

Shortly after Xiao’s departure, Unibet Poker Ambassador Espen “COVFEFE-19” Jorstad, who had lost a big chunk of his chips to Yaniv “netasheli528” Bohadana, was eliminated in fifth place.

Silviya “Impala” Kaymakchieva and Yaniv “netasheli528” Bohadana hit the rail quickly, setting up the heads-up match.

Uselis was ahead of Andrew “PaxRomana” Wilson at the start of the heads-up, and it took him less than 30 minutes to close out his win. Eventually, on a board reading , Uselis shoved holding for rivered quads. Wilson took his time before calling for his tournament life with for a rivered flush – only to get the bad news.
