The 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online is well underway at WSOP.com for Nevada and New Jersey players. The latest tourney to hand out the prized WSOP bracelet was Event #9 $1,000 NLHE 6-Max. After an intense fight that lasted nearly 10 hours, it was Iowa-based Ron MacDaddy15’ McMillen who emerged the champion, winning $188,214.57.

McMillen was only third in chips when the final table began. The 70-year-old is a regular at the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT), and has plenty of scores at the WSOP but was playing online for the first time in his life. Call it beginners luck but he rode past his competitors to claim the shining WSOP bracelet.

The event registered 1,026 players (658 unique and 368 rebuys), generating a prize pool of $974,700. The tournament permitted players to re-enter twice, and the top 143 finishers earned at least $1,656.99.

While many big names fell short of the title, perhaps the most heartbreaking journey of them all was that of Ruth ‘crazeelf666’ Ruffman, the start of the final table chip leader. The first confirmed woman to make a final table appearance at the ongoing series, Ruffman, has over $200,000 in live earnings and a WSOP circuit ring that she had won at the 2018 WSOP Circuit Harrah’s Atlantic City $365 NLHE. She was a serious contender for the title before a series of setbacks saw her bracelet aspirations falling short in fourth-place, worth $58,482 in prize money.

Indian-origin Shankar ‘burgersssss’ Pillai, Ryan ‘bitc0in’ Riess, Tony ‘Panoramic’ Dunst, Michael ‘itwasthator0’ Gagliano, Jamie ‘DanBilzerian’ Kerstetter and Faraz ‘22NevaLoose’ Jaka were the prominent pros who busted out of the money.

The bubble burst in Level 21 on Ray ‘Raytrg’ Vilaman after his ace-king was cracked by Michael ‘Babbushka’ Einbinde’s two-pair of jacks and tens.

Once again, GGPoker Ambassador Daniel Negreanu live-streamed his run in the event. Negreanu was ultimately eliminated in 96th place and earned $1,851.93 for his finish.

Aram ‘X69Podheiser’ Zobian (8th for $17,447.13), Dan ‘FATDAN44’ Wach (9th for $13,353.39) and Ryan ‘Adopt_aDogg0’ Leng (10th for $10,331.82), Anthony ‘heheh’ Zinno (22nd for $5,360.25), Nick ‘cashUSklay’ Schulman (43rd for $3,703.86), Alan ‘mossadshark’ Sternberg (109th for $1,754.46) and Chris ‘Robotbob47’ Moorman (141st for $1,656.99) were among the other notables who finished ITM.

John ‘PokerBull197’ Dombrowski (7th for $23,100.39) bubbled the final table.

Final Table Recap

Minutes into the final table, Ian ‘apokerjoker2’ Steinman fell in sixth place – his ace-nine losing the race to Ron ‘MacDaddy15’s McMillen’s pocket deuces that improved to two-pair on the board.

About 15 minutes later, ‘moodeez,’ who had scored a double-up from the start of final table chip leader Ruth ‘crazeelf666’ Ruffman, 3-bet jammed from the small blind after ‘Im.Sorry’ opened from the cutoff. The latter called.

‘moodeez’

The flop paired ‘Im.Sorry’ but ‘moodeez’ had outs to a broadway draw. Unfortunately, with the turn and the river completing the board, ‘moodeez’ failed to get there, and was eliminated in fifth place.

The start of the final table chip leader Ruth Ruth ‘crazeelf666’ Ruffman hit the rail shortly afterward. Ruffman’s was up against ‘Im.Sorry’s , and failing to connect with the board, her tournament run was cut short in fourth place.

Bringing the event down to the heads-up, ‘Im.Sorry’ quickly dispatched ‘WillowG23 ‘in third place, his rivering a flush on the runout to dominate ‘WillowG23’s .

The heads-up saw both the finalists almost evenly matched with ‘McMillen holding 10,431,720 against ‘Im.Sorry’s 10,088,280.

McMillen scooped a massive pot early on to spin up to over 18.92 million in chips. It didn`t take long for ‘Im.Sorry’ to move all-in after that for 1.752 million and McMillen called.
