Event #47: $1,000 Short Deck No-Limit Hold’em of the 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online on GGPoker/Natural8 logged in 487 runners that helped generate a prize pool worth $462,560. The top 71 players got paid with a min-cash worth $2,152. Taking home his first bracelet was Malaysia’s Paul Teoh (cover image), who walked away with $88,202 in prize money after defeating Michelle “hu4trollzz” Shah heads-up.
Another player on the FT who made a lot of noise (and for obvious reasons) was Mike Watson. Widely considered one of the best MTT players in the game yet to win a gold bracelet, Watson boasts $12 Million in live tournament winnings and $6 Million in recorded online winnings!
Notable pros who made ITM finishes but missed out on the FT included Dustin “JohnSmiley1” Dirksen (12th for $5,167), Dzmitry Urbanovich (22nd for $3,334), Danny Tang (29th for $2,679), Dario Sammartino (36th for $2,679), Dan “oiltrader” Shak (38th for $2,679), Jens “Tankanza” Lakemeier (55th for $2,152), and Manig Loeser (64th for $2,152).

It took almost an hour for the first elimination to occur, and two players got knocked out at once. The action saw Shota “shorta222” Nakanishi moving all-in with . Boon Heng “CowBaby” Siong 3-bet shoved with and Andrei “iosif stalin” Konopelko called with . The board ran , and Konopelko rivered a straight to take down the hand. Siong finished eighth while Nakanishi settled for the ninth-place.
Within five minutes, Mykhailo “remand” Krasnytskyi exited in seventh place, and Jose Luis “IQUI22” Maslhia fell out in sixth place.
Next up, Joseph “MrWheatToast” Orsino open-shoved with and Michael Watson moved all-in over the top with . The board ran and Orsino busted in fifth place.
After an hour of trading chips, Michelle “hu4trollzz” Shah moved all-in with , and Andrei “iosif stalin” Konopelko looked him up with . Shah ended up completing a straight on the board to eliminate Konopelko in fourth place.
Twelve minutes later, Paul Teoh shoved with pocket tens, and Mike Watson got it in good with pocket jacks. Watson was in good shape before the runout gave Teoh a straight. The bad beat got Watson the third-place payout while setting up the heads-up play between Teoh (103.93 Million) and Shah (42.16 Million).
The heads-up lasted less than 20 minutes and on the final hand, Teoh’s ran over Shah’s on the board .
