WSOP Online 2020: William Romaine Takes Down Event #28 on WSOP.com For $110,672

The 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online awarded its last non Hold ’em bracelet on WSOP.com on Tuesday. Event #28: $1,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 6-Max logged in 425 runners who rebought 100 times, creating a prize pool worth $498,750. After over 12 hours of intense action, the former WSOP Circuit ring winner William “SlaweelRyam” Romaine from Connecticut finally got the monkey off his back by winning that elusive first WSOP bracelet and the $110,672 first-place cash prize.

This was Romaine’s second Ft finish at the series after his runner-up finish in Event #13: $1,500 High Roller Freezeout two weeks back for $110,979. He boasts $234,614 in lifetime live cashes with a career-best $142,215 that he had won for a 61st place finish in the 2019 WSOP Main Event.

Three-time bracelet winner Upeshka “gomezhamburg” De Silva (9th for $7,880.25), Norman “normanchad” Chad (13th for $4,638.37), Ryan “protential” Laplante (22nd for $3,690.75), Erica “huckcheevers” Lindgren (30th for $2,992.50), Ryan “im.sorry” Torgersen (38th for $2,144.62), Eric “circleball” Baldwin (59th for $1,695.75), and Brian “tsarrast” Rast (69th for $1,596) posted ITM finishes in the tourney.

Ralph “sosana” Perry (7th – $10,673.25) was the official final table bubble boy.

Final Table Recap

First, “NJ_FittyFish” hit the rail in sixth place, going out to William “SlaweelRyam” Romaine. Around a half-hour later, Kyle “Ksparks740” Sparks hit the rail in fifth place.

Less than 10 minutes later, “Chippingggup” was sent packing by Romaine in fourth place. Not done yet, Romaine set his sights on “kheescoopym” who had entered the FT with a massive lead but ultimately had to settle for a third-place finish.

Heads-up, Romaine held 4.64 Million in chips against Mark “victb” Ioli’s 3.23 Million, and it took the former less than 10 minutes to secure the victory.

In what turned out the most decisive hand of the night, Romaine opened, and Ioli called to see the flop . Romaine bet, Ioli check-raised and got the call. On the turn, Ioli bet, Romaine 3-bet, and Loli called. The river completed the board, Romaine bet, and Loli, who was left with just about 430K, tank folded.

In the very next hand, Romaine won Ioli’s remaining chips to bag the bracelet and the $110,672 up-top prize money!
