On Sunday, Event #17: $400 PLOSSUS Bounty of the GGPoker/Natural8-leg of 2021 WSOP Online Series played down to a winner. Israel’s Gaby “kidrurim” Livshitz bested the gigantic 4,576-player field, bagging his career-first bracelet and $152,165 in prize money. Livshitz was among the shorter stacks at the start of the final table but eliminated two players on the FT to get the thrust needed to take down the title.

The final day`s play began with 584 qualifiers, led by GGPoker Ambassador Daniel Negreanu, who held a stack of over 2 Million chips. India’s “NewGambler” was one of the other top stacks returning on Day 2 and made it as far as an 18th place finish worth $3,774 (₹2.80 Lakhs). Negreanu placed 23rd for $3,017.

Meanwhile, Event #15: $10,000 Heads-Up Championship played down to four players on Saturday. The entry limit was initially set at 128 players but was increased later to 256. The event ended up registering 161 hopefuls and ran a bracket of five intense match-ups to find the four semi-finalists. Arthur Conan, Adrian Mateos, Daniel Soltys, and Alekzejs Ponakovs have made the cut, all of them locking in 155,389 from the $1,561,700 prize pool. However, each of them will be chasing the $466,167 up-top when the play resumes on September 4.

India`s “AreYouAhead” and Rahul Byrraju were among the 161 runners in Event #15 but failed to finish in the money. Byrraju had earlier cashed in Event #1: $50 NLHE -The Return, where he placed 74th for $1,814 (₹1.34 Lakhs). Rui Ferrera eliminated him in the Round of 256. “AreYouAhead” played bracelet winner Konstantin Maslak first, followed by Martijn Gerrits but lost both matches to fall out.

The other weekend attraction, the $2 Million GTD Event #16: $1,050 WSOP GGMasters HR Freezeout NLH registered 2,040 entrants to collect a $2,240,000 prize pool. Day 1 was halted with 37 players bagging a stack. Australia’s Joshua McCully (1,577,465) bagged the overnight chip lead and is the frontrunner to collect the winner’s paycheque worth $275,519.

Young Gun Neel “Neel” Joshi (645,948) is the only Indian player among the 37 qualifiers and is chasing his third cash at the series. The Pune-based pro placed 21st in Event #4 $800 Double Chance NLH for $6,149 (~₹4.58 Lakhs), and 207th in Event #12: $1,000 – Double Stack for $5,210 (₹3.86 Lakhs). Like the other Day 2 qualifiers, Joshi is guaranteed to collect $6,367 (₹4.72 Lakhs) with the chance to bag $275,510 if he can win the title.
