This event happened to be the first Super Turbo tourney of the series, and it kicked off at 3 PM PDT on Sunday, July 4 – the U.S. Independence Day. The event taking place on WSOP.com was open only to players in New Jersey and Nevada, and the lure of winning a WSOP bracelet brought several top pros to take a shot in the fast-paced event.

A total of 850 players (608 unique entries and 242 re-buys) ponied up the $500 entry buy-in, making for a $382,500 prize pool.

Bracelet winner Galen ‘turkmalloy’ Hall burst the money bubble when he eliminated the user ‘Retilit’ in 144th place, assuring the remaining 143 players a min-cash of $650.

The money list had several bracelet winners and other top pros on it. Final Table Recap

Jonathan ‘Art.Vandelay’ Dokler fell short in his pursuit to win a second WSOP bracelet, and he went out to a brutal bad beat. The eventual champion ‘Steelvikes7’ was all in with pocket fives against Dokler’s cowboys. Just when it looked like Dokler would double up, the flop opened a set of fives for ‘Steelvikes7,’ eliminating Dokler in ninth place.

Eliminations came swiftly after that, with Indian-origin Vineet ‘brownmagic’ Pahuja, Wendy ‘Cardthartic’ Freedman, and ‘JJcorrado87’ falling in places eighth to sixth, respectively. Matthew ‘Bizpoker18’ Beier exited in fifth place.
