The Tilt Poker Series has been a resounding success and PokerGuru has been bringing you complete coverage of the series so far.
The inaugural ₹3K Freezeout event at Rockets Poker Room, Bangalore on Dec 17, saw the place packed with pros and amateurs, vying for the action. Lokesh Thakkar emerged the winner, after beating 68 runners, with Kalyan Chakravarthy and Shyam Veerabhadra coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
The next ₹5K Rebuy event, once again received voluminous entries, breaking the 100-entry guarantee by the organizers. MTT pro`s Aditya ‘donkabomber’ Sushant and Jasven Saigal, both made an impact with significant scores. It was Pavan Srinivasan, though, who claimed victory after beating Sushant in a heads finale. Srinivasan displayed grit and alertness, as he moved steadily from being 6thin chips to title conqueror. Sushant and Saigal took 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
The ₹10K Freezeout Event on Day 3 started a little late, but more than compensated with its non-stop action. A player field of 62 included a number of notables, such as Day 2 winner Pavan Srinivasan,Young Gun Aditya ‘donkab0mber’ Sushant & Sahil ‘antilog’ Agarwal, Jasven Saigal, ACOP Spadie winner Kunal Patni and Nipun Java.
The top 6 players made it to the money and it was Young Gun Sahil “antilog” Agarwal (cover image), who took the title, after a three-way chop.
The 5K Rebuy runner-up, Aditya Sushant was relegated to the rails at Level 7 and by Level 10, Sahil had grabbed a big pot, with his pocket tens from a startled Mahaveer Jain. Sahil then lost a huge pot to Prasanna Jayappa, but hung on tenaciously to win most of it back from Dev at Level 13.
The tournament was in the money after Archit Khandelwal`s elimination in 7th place, who got the unfortunate tag of bubble boy.
Rajath Sharma was eliminated at 6th place and had the consolation of making it to the money. Atul Srinath was next at 5th, followed by the elimination of start of the final table chip leader, Gaurav Bhandari in 4th place.
The tournament was then paused for discussion of a possible deal. It was decided to cut the prize money equally, with ₹40K in play for the ultimate winner.
After the deal, it was Naveen, whose fell against Sahil’s , as the board ran out . Naveen Pilot who began the final table third in chips maintained his position all the way till the end and hit the rails in 3rd place itself.
The action had slowed down considerable during the heads-up until we witnessed that exciting hand where a persistent Prasanna bluffed his way to the chip lead and play continued for another level.
The final hand saw Prassana raising preflop and Sahil making the call. The flop opened and Prasanna moved all-in with 285,000, while Sahil with an almost equal stack called.
