Daily Majors: Manish Lakhotia & Aquib Ansari Feature Among Monday`s Top Winners

Mondays have gained notoriety as the “slow day” for online poker players, with most MTT regs choosing to take the day off after a busy weekend grind. Moreover, with no major tournament series currently running, the Monday action was sluggish, and most of the day`s flagships were taken down by relatively lesser-known players.

However, the week started on a positive note for the micro to low-stakes players, as PokerBaazi`s “₹10 Mein 10 Lakhpati” tournament hit the ground running yesterday. The site ran the first three daily qualifiers yesterday. A brand-new edition of Adda52`s ₹1 Crore GTD Nano Poker Series also played out seven events on Monday.

The day`s single-biggest score was picked up by the former Adda52 Big Game fourth-place finisher ‘fylperus,’ who came out on top in Iron Man for ₹2.18 Lakhs. ‘pushp14480’ came second for ₹1.29 Lakhs.

PokerBaazi’s The Big Show title was taken down by Sabur Ali for ₹1.81 Lakhs. ‘ghatak007’ finished runner-up for ₹1.27 Lakhs.

The user ‘golddigger1905’ was the biggest winner on Spartan Poker and chopped the ReCharge heads-up with ‘Bigboy larry barese’ (2nd for ₹1.33 Lakhs) to collect ₹1.33 Lakhs.

The #2 ranked player of the year, Manish Lakhotia, pulled out a breakout run last night, adding ₹1.94 Lakhs in total winnings. He won PokerStars India`s Battle Royale for ₹1.11 Lakhs and placed third in Spartan Poker`s ReCharge for ₹78,000.

Aquib Ansari was the last player standing in Spartan Poker’s Deepstack and won ₹73,918 after striking a heads-up deal with ‘Rahul4444s’ (2nd for ₹67,641).

Adda52

This Young Gun is truly a trailblazer!! A day ago, we had reported how Gaurav Sood has completed 14 weeks on top of the annual leaderboard but is dangerously close to losing the top spot to Manish Lakhotia. The dentist-turned-poker pro had a fabulous Sunday grind and won two flagships, cementing his reign on the annual leaderboard! Sood overcame a reg-laden field of 156 contestants to win Adda52’s ₹50 Lakhs GTD DOPT Highroller for a whopping ₹13.50 Lakhs. Sandeep ‘thak’ Thakral finished runner-up for ₹8.50 Lakhs.

Despite the attractive Sunday offerings on the opening day of the series, most DOPT events were made to fill in significant overlays. The DOPT Highroller topped the list with a landslide ₹11 Lakhs shortfall.

The ₹20 Lakhs GTD DOPT Epic also added to the overlay woes with its 459-entry field, resulting in an overlay worth ₹1.36 Lakhs. ‘Happyfish’ (anonymity requested) was the last player standing and won ₹5.20 Lakhs after denying Ritwik ‘ritwik27’ Khanna in heads-up play.

For Ritwik Khanna, the runner-up score of ₹2.95 Lakhs was the smaller of the two FT scores he posted on Adda52 last night. Khanna placed third in the DOPT Highroller for ₹6.25 Lakhs. His net Sunday winnings came in at ₹10.08 Lakhs.

Ritwik Khanna`s ITM finishes include

> 3rd in the DOPT Highroller ₹50 Lakhs GTD for ₹6.25 Lakhs

> 2nd in the DOPT Epic ₹20 Lakhs GTD for ₹2.95 Lakhs

> 13th in the Sunday Superstack ₹30 Lakhs GTD for ₹51,671

> 25th in The Prestige ₹50 Lakhs GTD for ₹25,950

Ritwik Khanna`s online stats: Lifetime Winnings: ₹3.51 Crores | Lifetime Profits: ₹79.35 Lakhs | Annual Winnings: ₹2.41 Crores | Ranked #15 in the Annual Leaderboard Standings

The ₹7 Lakhs GTD DOPT Grand Duke was taken down by ‘peacelover’ (anonymity requested), who bested the 254-player field to collect ₹1.75 Lakhs. Akshat ‘akshat03’ Sharma placed runner-up for ₹1.06 Lakhs.
