Doddapaneni, Singhvi, Chutani & Das Bank 7-Figure Scores on a Blockbuster Sunday

A phenomenal Sunday was glittered with some of the Indian poker industry’s biggest names championing the flagship tournaments! From Sriharsha Doddapaneni claiming his career-first Millionaire title in Spartan Poker’s IOPC Millionaire Legends to Siddarth Singhvi persisting with his sublime form and shipping Adda52’s APF Full House Finale, it was a blockbuster night! Let’s quickly get to the recap.

Spartan Poker

The biggest-ever India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) series has now completed 11 days, and the magnum opus on offer last night was the ₹1.5 Crores GTD IOPC Millionaire Legends. The two-day event locked in 818 entries through three starting flights. As the trend has been throughout the series, the Millionaire Legends, too, successfully crushed its guarantee, generating a colossal ₹2.04 Crores in the prize pool. Only 128 runners advanced to Day 2.

One of the most prolific players of the Indian poker circuit, Sriharsha ‘Potato Player’ Doddapaneni, had come close to clinching his career-first Millionaire just a few weeks ago in The Millionaire ₹1 Crore GTD. Following a heads-up deal, Doddapaneni lost the title to site regular ‘McFly’ and had to settle for a second-place finish worth ₹14.97 Lakhs. However, last night the stars finally aligned, and the 2019 WPT India ₹25K Big Bounty winner was able to claim the Millionaire Legends title for a jaw-dropping ₹38.75 Lakhs. This also happens to be Doddapaneni’s personal-best online score thus far.

Incidentally, Doddapaneni’s nemesis and former Millionaire champion ‘McFly’ also final tabled this event yesterday, but could only manage a seventh-place finish for ₹7.24 Lakhs. Sagar ‘Strangeplay’ Choudhury (9th for ₹2.84 Lakhs) was the only other notable player who made it to the final table.

Another former Millionaire, in fact, the first-ever Millionaire United winner and the first known female Millionaire champion Mahima Walia ‘mambojojo’ Das was also a part of yesterday’s elite list of winners. She triumphed over 1,214 entries that were logged in the ₹60 Lakhs GTD IOPC Sunday Superstack and banked a winner’s paycheque of ₹11.43 Lakhs, after knocking ‘KUBERA33’ out in second place. The latter pocketed ₹6.95 Lakhs for their efforts. Walia also final tabled the IOPC#74 ₹6.5 Lakhs GTD, finishing seventh for ₹22,984.

The ₹15 Lakhs GTD IOPC Big Daddy was one of the first marquee events of the ongoing IOPC that witnessed an overlay. After drawing in 731 entries, the event had a deficit of ₹38,000. ‘Hiteshh’ came out on top to win ₹2.52 Lakhs, after striking a heads-up deal with ‘cardshark91’ (runner-up for ₹2.19 Lakhs).

Anish ‘anishsuri’ Suri (IOPC#74 ₹6.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.38 Lakhs), ‘Unpredictable1’ (IOPC#70 ₹6 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.48 Lakhs) and Harpreet ‘preet123’ Saluja (IOPC#71 Monster Stack ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹82,750), won the other IOPC titles on Spartan Poker yesterday.

Besides the mouth-watering ₹25 Crores in prize pool guarantees on offer, Spartan Poker is also providing lucrative leaderboard prizes. As of July 19, following are the IOPC Leaderboard standings:

Adda52

The Adda52 Poker Fest (APF) kicked off on July 17, and features ₹5.8 Crores in guaranteed prizes and is expected to run till July 26. The Sunday marquee tourney was the ₹1 Crore GTD APF Full House Finale. Sporting a ₹5,500 buy-in, a total of 1,933 entries were registered across six starting flights. But that wasn’t enough to breach the offered guarantee, resulting in a ₹3.35 Lakhs overlay. Former WPT India champion Siddarth ‘badtameez_donk’ Singhvi topped the field and outlasted former Young Gun Sahil ‘bluffme19’ Chutani en-route to capturing the title and top prize of ₹21 Lakhs. Chutani received ₹13.20 Lakhs for his runner-up finish.

The Pune-based Singhvi recently made headlines for shipping Spartan Poker’s IOPC Destiny on July 13 for ₹2.78 Lakhs. He has been running hot over the past few monthsand even topped our weekly online rankings between April 4 to 10. Singhvi had finished runner-up in Spartan Poker’s The Millionaire Legends ₹1.5 Crores GTD on April 5 and won Adda52’s AOPS Hitman ₹12.5 Lakhs GTD on April 7. His present recorded online winnings stand tall at ₹3.57 Crores.

The APF Full Finale had a reg-infested final table that featured some of the domestic circuit’s most illustrious names. The lineup included India’s original ‘Poker Guru’ Aditya ‘iamherenow’ Agarwal (3rd for ₹8 Lakhs), Akshay ‘vibaks’ Nasa (4th for ₹6 Lakhs), Vivek ‘Ikkvr’ Rughani (6th for ₹3 Lakhs), Aman ‘zontory’ Bhadu (7th for ₹2 Lakhs) and Deepak ‘bothras’ Bothra (9th for ₹1 Lakh).

Sanket ‘cowboy12’ Jain had finished runner-up in Adda52’s Millions AF ₹20 Lakhs GTD on April 19 for ₹4.88 Lakhs. Last night, he trounced a field of 275 entries in the APF Millions ₹25 Lakhs and bagged the lion’s share of the ₹27.50 Lakhs prize pool worth ₹7.04 Lakhs.

The other big-ticket event on Adda52 last night was the ₹15 Lakhs GTD APF Big Slick that pulled in 576 contenders. The site had to fill in a sizeable overlay of ₹2.04 Lakhs. 2018 PokerStars India Winter Series Main Event winner Abhineet ‘pokemon13’Jain captured the title for ₹2.74 Lakhs, after defeating ‘whodahellru’ (runner-up for ₹2 Lakhs) heads-up. Jain’s biggest score to-date had come in the February edition of Spartan Poker’s Millionaire Legends, where he had finished runner-up for ₹34.06 Lakhs.

The APF Sunday Punch ₹5 Lakhs saw ‘ansu1980’ race to the top of an 828-entry field and collect a ₹88,470 payday for their win. The event fell ₹86,000 short of meeting its advertised guarantee.

PokerBaazi

Headlining the Sunday events on PokerBaazi was the ₹25 Lakhs BSS SuperStack. Despite accruing a 473-strong entry field, the tourney suffered a ₹1.35 Lakhs overlay. After battling it out for nearly eight hours, former Millionaire Lite champion Sreekanth ‘n0thing’ Narayan came out on top to claim the title and top prize of ₹5.03 Lakhs. This was Narayan’s third BSS SuperStack win since December 2018. He has accumulated ₹1.88 Crores in online winnings to date. In fact, Narayan also final tabled Adda52’s APF Millions, placing fifth for ₹1.58 Lakhs.

Narayan claimed the title after besting Rajesh ‘intervntion’ Kumar Shukla heads-up and the latter took home ₹3.52 Lakhs in prize money.

The ₹8 Lakhs GTD BSS MegaStack suffered the same fate as the BSS SuperStack and was hit by the overlay express. Gathering 274 participants, the tournament had a shortfall of ₹1.15 Lakhs. Making good use of the value on offer, PokerGuru Ambassador Nadeem ‘SpadeHunter’ Basha took down the title for ₹1.77 Lakhs, following a heads-up deal with Vinay ‘Vinstill’ Bk (runner-up for ₹1.24 Lakhs). Basha has been through a dry spell over the past few months, with his last title win coming in Spartan Poker’s SSS #37 Afternoon Showdown ₹8 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.42 Lakhs on April 14. Since Saturday, he has been on a winning spree. He took down the ₹8 Lakhs GTD IOPC#69 Daredevil on Saturday for ₹1.96 Lakhs. Currently, his overall online earnings have reached ₹3.01 Crores.

The first week of the inaugural Indian Micro Poker Series (IMPS) is now in the books. The series is slated to play out till July 26. The featured tournament on Sunday, the ₹5 Lakhs GTD IMPS#58 Mini Main was championed by Raghav ‘Ragtag24’ Wahi, who took home ₹1.46 Lakhs in first-place prize money.

Mystery user ‘Apocalypto’ won the ₹5 Lakhs GTD BSS Monster 6-Max for ₹1.24 Lakhs, while Imdad ‘rahuljohn1983’ Ahmed came in second for ₹87,150.

PokerStars India

PokerStars India’s Micro Millions series culminated in the wee hours on Monday morning with the ₹20 Lakhs GTD Main Event crowning a champion in MTT crusher Srihari ‘bangbang1999’ Bang. The young prodigy competed against the likes of Sanat ‘tuffcookie777’ Kaikini (runner-up for ₹2.42 Lakhs), Ram ‘TheLagLawyer’ Kakkar (3rd for ₹1.72 Lakhs), Anmol ‘freak_weird0’ Agarwal (5th for ₹87,669) and Amit ‘Stu Ungar 7694′ Kaushik (9th for ₹24,262), before capturing the top honors for a ₹3.39 Lakhs payday. The Micro Millions Main Event pulled in 753 entries and posted an overlay worth ₹1.17 Lakhs.

Joining the overlay brigade on PokerStars India was the weekly Sunday Special Progressive KO ₹18 Lakhs GTD. The event’s guarantee was yet again slashed by ₹2 Lakhs this week. Daily Majors: Bhardwaj, Singhvi, Varma, Darade & Munot Bank the Big Monday Scores

With Spartan Poker’s India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) July edition underway in full swing, much of the virtual action was focused on the series. While some flagship events did witness an overlay, most of the IOPC tourneys comfortably surpassed their advertised guarantees. Let’s check out who the big winners were yesterday.

Spartan Poker

It was an action-packed day on Spartan Poker, and the show-stealer was the ever-popular ₹20 Lakhs GTD IOPC ReCharge. The event registered 1,195 entries and collected a guarantee-smashing prize pool worth ₹23.90 Lakhs. Chirag ‘Sa$sY_ThaT’ Bhardwaj championed the tourney for ₹3.61 Lakhs, after a three-way deal with ‘Unpredictable1’ (runner-up for ₹2.91 Lakhs) and ‘NutzHunteR’ (3rd for ₹2.68 Lakhs).

Over the past few months, Bhardwaj has championed several big-ticket events, including shipping Adda52’s AOPS Mega Suits ₹35 Lakhs GTD for a career-best ₹10.63 Lakhs on April 12, the Inception ₹10 Lakhs GTD for ₹4 Lakhs on March 23 and The Ballers ₹20 Lakhs GTD for ₹3.34 Lakhs on February 28. His overall online scorecard stands tall at ₹1.33 Crores.

The other headliner event of the night was the IOPC Destiny featuring a ₹10 Lakhs guarantee. A field of 654 runners gathered to participate, helping the tourney comfortably sail past its listed guarantee. In the end, the ₹13.08 Lakhs prize pool was distributed among the top 60 finishers. Former WPT champion Siddarth ‘PeterPunter’ Singhvi took down the event for ₹2.78 Lakhs, following a heads-up chop with Vikranth ‘borntrouble’ Varma, who banked ₹2.71 Lakhs for his runner-up finish. Since March, he has bagged numerous titles, and final table cashes, with his personal-best score coming in Spartan Poker’s ₹1.5 Crores GTD Millionaire Legends where he finished runner-up for ₹25.76 Lakhson April 5. He has moved up two places to #17 on the annual winnings’ leaderboard after this score with approx ₹1.41 Crores in winnings.
