Jitendra Gadhwal Clinches India’s Second-Biggest Online Score, Wins ₹5 Crores GTD #BB8 ENDBOSS on PokerBaazi For ₹1 Crore!
The Indian poker community witnessed one of its landmark Sundays yesterday – both live and online. The first-ever IPC Megastacks witnessed electrifying action in Jhapa with Day 2 of the ₹60K Main Event and the 15K Mystery Bounty running in tandem. However, it was PokerBaazi’s ₹5 Crores GTD #BB8 ENDBOSS that set the virtual felts on fire last night.
Like the last two ENDBOSS editions, a relatively lesser-known player, 26-year-old Jitendra Gadhwal from New Delhi, championed the third edition of India’s biggest online poker tournament for a life-changing ₹1 Crore payday! A poker enthusiast who works in the IT sector and plays poker when he can fit in the time, Gadhwal triumphed over a competitive 4,948-entry field – emerging as the second-biggest winner in an online poker tournament in the country. The record for the biggest single score still belongs to Abhishek Maheshwari, the first ENDBOSS champion who banked ₹1,00,15,911.
However, Gadhwal also cashed Adda52’s BTH Ice Cube, rounding up a collective ₹1,00,16,168 in Sunday winnings, edging past Maheshwari as the biggest single-day winner in the country to date. The ENDBOSS victory has boosted Gadhwal’s online scorecard to ₹1.60 Crores, and needless to say, the singular score has pushed him past the ₹1 Crore mark in annual winnings.
Eshan Kapoor (2nd for ₹60.20 Lakhs), poker streamer Bhushan Sohani (3rd for ₹31.40 Lakhs), and Gautam Kaul (4th for ₹21.50 Lakhs) were others who added breakout scores in ENDBOSS.
The ENDBOSS fifth-place finisher, PokerGuru Ambassador Nadeem Basha, may have lost his chances to become the “ENDBOSS,” still, he placed four better in Spartan Poker’s Money Heist, winning the title for ₹76,198 (four-way deal). He lapped up ₹18.60 Lakhs in Sunday winnings.
Young Gun Ujjwal Narwal clinched his fourth title in under a week, shipping Adda52’s BTH Mojito Finale for ₹8.86 Lakhs. He also min-cashed ENDBOSS, making away with ₹9.11 Lakhs in Sunday winnings.
The #4 ranked player of the year and last week’s leaderboard topper, Mohammad Azhar, championed Adda52`s BTH Monster for ₹7.98 Lakhs. He cashed another three events, collectively adding ₹8.77 Lakhs!
Rising Star Ritwik Khanna stormed his way into victory in PokerBaazi’s BSS SuperStack, winning the event for the second time for ₹7.19 Lakhs. He cumulatively added ₹8.32 Lakhs last night, climbing to #5 in the annual rankings.
Another player scoring multiple titles in under a week was last Wednesday’s Maverick winner Kanav Parwal, who took down BTH Sunday Madness for ₹2.10 Lakhs. He chopped the title three-way with Samay Singh Modi (2nd for ₹2.02 Lakhs) and Siddhanth Kapoor (3rd for ₹2.01 Lakhs). Parwal also placed third in PokerBaazi’s BSS SuperStack, lapping up ₹5.90 Lakhs in Sunday winnings.
The former The Millionaire champion Rishab Malik took down Spartan Poker’s Sunday Superstack for ₹5.24 Lakhs following a three-way deal with Punya Behera (2nd for ₹5.04 Lakhs) and Rubin Labroo (3rd for ₹4.89 Lakhs). He made away with ₹5.79 Lakhs altogether.
PokerGuru Ambassador Laksh Pal Singh won his second PokerStars India’s Sunday Highroller for ₹2.44 Lakhs, picking his 10th High Roller title on the site last night.
PokerGuru Ambassador Tarush Gupta, the #2 ranked player of the year, Young Gun Arsh Grover, Deepak Singh, Mohak Kapoor, Akhilesh Gautam, Sankalp Marwah, and Karan Thakker won the other Sunday marquees.
