Rising Star Aman ‘KarmaPoker’ Parakh holds onto his position as the NPS Series Leaderboard leader for the third nail-biting day. His double Gold Medal domination on Wednesday ignited his lead, and he hasn’t looked back. Parakh’s Thursday saw him rack up another final table finish in NPS#31 (PLO-5) and a whopping seven more cashes on Friday – pure consistency is his superpower! He’s the first to break the 10K-point barrier with 11,478 points and boasts an astonishing 35 cashes in 43 events. With a lifetime tally of eight NPS medals, Parakh is rewriting the record books. Modi’s relentless consistency is jaw-dropping – he’s cashed in an astounding 33 out of 43 NPS events. His adaptability shines, and he’s rocketed to the top of the NPS India Podium Leaderboard. Three dazzling Gold Medal victories in NPS#37 (7-Max) Deepdive, NPS#28 (6-Max) SPRINT, and NPS#3 (5-Max) Hyper SPRINT prove this is just the beginning of Modi’s assault.

Never count out a champion! Vikram ‘Poker_lover’ Mishra, who dominated the 2023 NPS Podium Leaderboard, is back with a vengeance. His thunderous victory in NPS #33 Thursday Thunder brought him his first Gold Medal of the series and a sixth NPS medal overall. Beyond the virtual felts, the regulatory landscape saw a shakeup. The Indian government is stepping back from its plan to let the industry self-govern through Self-Regulatory Organizations (SROs), fearing concerns of potential bias and insufficient consumer protection under the model. All applications for SROs have been rejected, given the dominant influence of gaming companies. Instead, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) will directly oversee real-money game certification and authorization. This shift aims to address consumer protection concerns and tackle issues like underage gambling.
