Avneesh Munjal walked away as the day’s top scorer after taking down Spartan Poker’s Destiny title for ₹6.19 Lakhs and a seat in the ₹10 Lakhs GTD Destiny 20.0 SNG Finale.

Adda52 user ‘Hiesenberg07’ shipped the WPT trophy event of the day, the WPT Wednesday Rush for ₹3.63 Lakhs following a three-way deal with ‘Amod1001’ (2nd for ₹3.29 Lakhs) and the UFC KO Series Mini Main Event champion Himanshu Kataria (3rd for ₹3.24 Lakhs).

The former AOPS Holdem 6-Max winner ‘csat82’ came out on top in the WPT Deepstack to collect a personal-best (on Adda52) ₹4.42 Lakhs and the WPT trophy. The former Adda52 Millions champion Ankit Khattar placed second for ₹2.63 Lakhs.

The recent Sunday Highroller PKO winner Anurag Srivastava pocketed ₹2.21 Lakhs for taking down PokerBaazi’s The Pride defeating Amit Kaushik heads-up.

Bharat Vasan topped PokerBaazi’s Daily Sprint 7-Max for ₹1.19 Lakhs.

Headlining the Day 18 schedule of the series were two WPT trophy events, and the more prominent of the two, the ₹20 Lakhs GTD WPT Wednesday Rush, saw Adda52 user ‘Hiesenberg07’ outlast the 864-entry field to win ₹3.63 Lakhs and their first WPT Online trophy. Before taking down the title, they struck a three-way deal with ‘Amod1001’ (2nd for ₹3.29 Lakhs) and UFC KO Series Mini Main Event champion Himanshu ‘StupidCommonMan’ Kataria (3rd for ₹3.24 Lakhs).

The ranked #1 player of 2020, Young Gun Gaurav Sood, came out all guns blazing as he won two flagship titles for over ₹36.61 Lakhs in total earnings. His Thursday rampage has catapulted him past Manish Lakhotia at the top of the annual leaderboard standings.

Of the four deep runs that Gaurav Sood picked up last night were two title wins, the first of which came in Spartan Poker’s ₹20 Lakhs GTD Trending Thursday. He took down the ₹5,500 entry buy-in tourney for ₹3.85 Lakhs, chopping the title heads-up with Chirag ‘chilling’ Sodha (runner-up for ₹3.22 Lakhs).

The dentist-turned-poker pro raked in ₹36.61 Lakhs in Thursday winnings, pushing his online scorecard north of ₹9.83 Crores. Sood happens to be the only player on our tracked database with over ₹9 Crores in online winnings, and at the pace at which he is going, it won’t be long before he crosses the ₹10 Crore mark in online winnings.

The event commenced at 7 PM and played out till 11:38 PM, with 27 runners from a starting field of 236 entries surviving the day’s onslaught. On Sunday, Purohit won his career-second WPT title in the WPT India Bounty Championship for ₹7.35 Lakhs. While The Summit is his second title victory this week, Purohit more significantly placed third in the WPT Super Highroller for ₹12.98 Lakhs. In all, he collected an impressive ₹16.36 Lakhs throughout the day.

The event witnessed a turnout of 259 players, riding past the advertised guarantee to collect a ₹5.18 Lakhs prize pool. The final three players agreed on a deal that saw Philip ‘Philister’ Jude win ₹1 Lakh. The ranked #1 player of 2020, Young Gun Gaurav ‘gauravarod’ Sood, decimated a star-studded field of 88 runners to take down the day`s featured event, the ₹1 Crore GTD WPT India Super Highroller, for a career-best ₹32.60 Lakhs and his first WPT trophy. Not confined to winning just one title, the two-time Millionaire champion, Gaurav Sood, went on to ship a second flagship event, Spartan Poker’s Trending Thursday, for ₹3.85 Lakhs. He finished ITM in two more events earning a combined ₹36.61 Lakhs.

The IOPC #47 Sunday Spotlight champion M Balakrishnan emerged as the day’s biggest winner on the back of two top finishes on Spartan Poker. He shipped the Destiny for ₹4.96 Lakhs and placed runner-up in UVS #18 for ₹61,900, altogether netting ₹5.68 Lakhs through the day.

The former AOPS Mini Highroller champion Sajjan Barnwal scored a thumping victory in the WPT Online India headliner, the WPT Wednesday Rush on Adda52, to win ₹5 Lakhs. The two-time Destiny winner Uttam Kumar Sinha placed runner-up.

The IOPC January 2021 Mastermind Aniket Waghmare bagged the second WPT trophy of the day in the WPT Single Shot (FO) for ₹4.05 Lakhs.

Devrat Singh came within touching distance of winning two WPT Online titles yesterday. The former Full House champion placed second in WPT Single Shot (FO) for ₹2.55 Lakhs and championed the WPT Moonlight for ₹1.21 Lakhs.

With the 11th edition of the India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) nearing its end and the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Online Series India and World Poker Tour Online India (WPTOI) commencing their second editions yesterday, the virtual felts were buzzing with electrifying action!

All eyes were on the magnum opus of the IOPC July edition, the ₹3.50 Crores GTD IOPC The Crown that formed its eight-player final table last night. Headlined by the original ‘Poker Guru,’ Aditya Agarwal (17,515,429), the eight finalists will return at 5 PM today to contest for the grandest prize of the series and the diamond-studded gold crown!

Coming to the events that did crown a champion last night, the most prominent of them, IOPC#135 Sunday Prime saw Pavankiran B bank a career-best ₹8.79 Lakhs top prize, following a three-way deal with Himanshu Arora (runner-up for ₹7.34 Lakhs) and Joyithung Lotha (3rd for ₹7.14 Lakhs).

Piyush Ravi was the other big winner at the IOPC, as he came out on top of a massive 5,940-entry field in the multi-flight IOPC #139 Value Mine to collect a personal-best ₹5.58 Lakhs.

The APT#4 Sunday Major offered the most significant guarantee on the opening day of the APT India Online series and mystery user ‘stardust’ collected the winner’s paycheque for ₹7.77 Lakhs. PokerGuru Ambassador Ankit Wadhawan secured the runner-up finish for ₹5.45 Lakhs.

The long-time circuit regular Romit Advani was among the breakout performers last night. Even though he did not win any titles, Advani ran deep in three marquee events, racking up ₹7.66 Lakhs in Sunday winnings.

The ₹11,000 buy-in tourney registered a ginormous 3,758 entry-field (Day 1A – 370, Day 1B – 346, Day 1C – 388, Day 1D – 447, Day 1E – 427, Day 1F – 441, Day 1G – 529, and Day 1H – 810) that saw it not just surpass, but crush its massive advertised guarantee with a ₹3.76 Crores prize pool!

Day 2 saw 531 runners (298 unique) return to contend to the prestigious crown, and only the top 525 entries were assured a min-cash of ₹18,790. Many notable names were in the running on Day 2, and the final table was formed following the elimination of ‘jailakshmi’ in ninth place for ₹4.50 Lakhs.

Given the outstanding form that he has been in, it comes as no surprise that Anuj Yadav is still on top of the IOPC Leaderboard with 19,249 points. While IOPC The Crown is yet to announce a winner and Anuj Yadav being one of the finalists, his eventual finish in the event will only determine by how many more points he will top the IOPC Leaderboard. The second edition of the much-awaited ₹8 Crore GTD APT Online Series India kicked off on PokerBaazi yesterday. Sunday saw six APT events crown champions, even as the ₹50 Lakhs GTD Mini Main Event ran the first of its three starting flights.

There are 10 APT trophies to be won at the series, and the first of them was up for grabs in the ₹40 Lakhs GTD APT#4 Sunday Major that took off at 7 PM yesterday. The tournament registered 488 players, overlaying ₹3.40 Lakhs. The play culminated at 4.42 AM after mystery player ‘stardust’ cut past the competition to win the title for ₹7.77 Lakhs after denying PokerGuru Ambassador Ankit ‘d00mtr00p3r’ Wadhawan in heads-up play. The champion ‘stardust’ now boasts of site cashes worth ₹16.36 Lakhs, which include ₹7.57 Lakhs in net profits.

Offering an unheard-of ₹1 Crore in guaranteed prize money for a mere ₹499 buy-in, WPT Unreal logged in 417 participants on Day 1A. The event ran eight starting flights that tallied up a monstrous 3,758-entry field (Day 1A – 370, Day 1B – 346, Day 1C – 388, Day 1D – 447, Day 1E – 427, Day 1F – 441, Day 1G – 529, and Day 1H – 810), crushing its posted guarantee to collect ₹3.76 Crores in the prize pool.

A total of 531 qualifying stacks (298 unique players) progressed to Day 2, with the top 525 entries guaranteed a min-cash of ₹18,790.

Day 2 began at 10 PM on Sunday, and Akash ‘Akash0510′ Gupta fell out on the money bubble in 526th place. But with his second stack, he placed 181st for ₹34,198.

Sounding off the second edition of the APT India Online was the APT#1 Kickoff. As expected, the event drew a crowded field of 709 runners (includes 364 re-entries), generating a profitable ₹21.27 Lakhs in the prize pool.

After over nine-hour of non-stop play, Vinayak ‘haayegarmi’ Bajaj came out on top to win his first APT Online title and ₹3.93 Lakhs in prize money. Bajaj had entered the final table as the chip leader and rode his momentum to the finish line. His final showdown was against ‘tiltonlytilt’ (runner-up for ₹2.75 Lakhs), and Bajaj quickly dispatched the player to the rail after his queen-eight rivered two-pair to dominate the latter’s king-jack that flopped a pair.

Bajaj also placed fifth in the IOPC #139 Value Mine for ₹1.16 Lakhs. Along with another 108th place finish in the Value Mine for ₹5,400, he banked over ₹9.87 Lakhs last night.

The former Sunday Highroller champion, Ashwin Vijay, posted another two deep runs on Sunday, netted ₹3.81 Lakhs in total earnings.

The second ₹10 Lakhs GTD tourney on the opening day of the APT India Online was the APT #6 Megastack. The tourney recorded a turnout of 696 players, collecting ₹10.44 Lakhs in the prize money. Tarush ‘Busterr’ Gupta grabbed the title for ₹1.60 Lakhs, following a heads-up deal with ‘LuckyLuke’ (runner-up for ₹1.51 Lakhs).

Gupta had entered the final table as the chip leader and was ahead of ‘LuckyLuke’ at the start of the heads-up. The latter scooped a big double-up to turn the tables, but Gupta bounced back again. While the deal had already sealed their payouts, Gupta clinched the win eventually after his ace-seven holding on against ‘LuckyLuke’s queen-eight.

Gupta posted three more cashes across Spartan Poker and Adda52, to earn ₹1.79 Lakhs, boosting his lifetime earnings to ₹69.74 Lakhs.
