Abhishek ‘degen88’ Kumar took home ₹2.05 Lakhs for taking down the Hitman, while ‘Vibhuiit17’ came out on top in the Hexagram to take home ₹70,625.

Daily Majors: Neel Joshi, Sabir Hossain & Akash Arora Ship the Friday Majors

While the first few days of the WPT India series did not disrupt the online traffic too much, the start of the Main Event yesterday resulted in a noticeable decline.

Tournament turnouts on Spartan Poker were a bag of mixed results. The Friday major The Elite ₹15 Lakhs GTD brought in 170 entries (84 unique, 39 re-entries, and 47 rebuys) that helped smash the guarantee with a prize pool collection of ₹17 Lakhs. In the end, Neel ‘Worm33’ Joshi came out on top to win ₹4.27 Lakhs. On the other hand, the other major, TGIF ₹10 Lakhs GTD, could only muster 536 entries (255 unique, 106 re-entries, and 175 rebuys) and got hit by a ₹1.96 Lakhs overlay. Benefitting the most from the value on offer was ‘Laard Labakdas,’ who topped the field to win ₹1.94 Lakhs.

On PokerBaazi, the two Friday majors had relatively smaller guarantees, and both avoided shortfalls. The flagship Friday tournament, Fri-YAY ₹10 Lakhs GTD, logged in 315 entries (133 unique and 182 re-entries) that helped generate a prize pool of ₹12.60 Lakhs. ‘hitmanharry’ emerged the winner and collected ₹2.20 Lakhs. The Friday SuperStack ₹3 Lakhs GTD attracted 157 entries (87 unique and 70 re-entries), making for a ₹3.14 Lakhs prize pool. Taking down the title for a ₹80,855 payday was Imdad ‘rahuljohn1983’ Ahmed.

Adda52’s The Barcelona ₹15 Lakhs GTD was hit the hardest with a ₹2.32 Lakhs overlay from 185 entries (125 unique and 6- re-entries). ‘Bit2Easy’ was the last player standing in the field and won ₹4.20 Lakhs. In fact, ‘Bit2Easy’ also scored in Adda52’s Hollywood ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD, finishing 11th for ₹5,000. The event suffered a shortfall of more than ₹50,000 via 108 entries (65 unique and 43 re-entries), and ‘Masterroshi’ won the top honors of ₹72,500.

PokerStars India’s signature Friday tournament, Uppercut – Progressive KO [6-Max] Magic Edition ₹8 Lakhs GTD, also filled in an overlay of close to ₹82,800 through 163 entries (85 unique and 78 re-entries). Taking advantage of the value on offer was ‘bettingkingg’ who bagged a top prize of ₹1.91 Lakhs for their win.

Daily Majors: Bhardwaj, Sushant, Srivastava, Grover & Arora Tame the Thursday Majors

The live-action is flourishing with the third edition of the World Poker Tour (WPT) India fast picking up steam. Fortunately, this has not disrupted the online traffic, with most sites posting healthy turnouts in their major tournaments last night.

The biggest guaranteed tournament yesterday, Adda52’s Melbourne event was able to break out of the overlay doldrums and managed to collect ₹20.55 Lakhs in prize money through 411 entries (241 unique and 170 re-entries). Chirag ‘mahikk’ Bhardwaj bested PokerGuru Ambassador Kartik ‘Pegasus1505’ Ved in the finale and walked away with a hefty ₹5.09 Lakhs payday. Ved banked ₹3.08 Lakhs for his second-place finish. ‘newkidpoker’ was the other big winner on the site as he took down the Hollywood event for ₹68,772.

On PokerBaazi, the biggest tournament of the day was The Summit ₹15 Lakhs GTD that logged in 264 entries (138 unique and 126 re-entries), comfortably smashing the advertised guarantee with a collection of ₹19.80 Lakhs in prize money. Aditya ‘gangajal’ Sushant came out on the top of the field to win the title for ₹4.37 Lakhs. It is worth mentioning that Sushant has won The Summit three times in the past and finished runner-up once – this is the fourth time he won this specific tournament. It was otherwise another busy day for the WSOP bracelet winner who, along with taking down the online major, also bagged a large stack on Day 1 of the ₹25K Big Bounty at WPT India.

The other Thursday major on the site, Thursday MonsterStack ₹5 Lakhs GTD also overshot its guarantee with 224 entries (138 unique and 86 re-entries) making for a ₹5.60 Lakhs prize pool. Seasoned regular Arsh ‘Button_Hai_Bro’ Grover, who is another tournament reg playing the WPT India series, banked ₹1.31 Lakhs from his online exploits last night.

On Spartan Poker, Anurag ‘Norman Bates’ Srivastava topped a 254-strong field (128 entries, 43 re-entries, and 83 rebuys) to win the Head-Hunter ₹10 Lakhs GTD for ₹2.36 Lakhs. Interestingly, Srivastava was one of the top contenders in The Summit as well and ended up posting a deep, third-place finish for ₹1.97 Lakhs. He has, with these two scores, earned a cumulative ₹4.33 Lakhs in just 24 hours!

The Highroller ₹10 Lakhs GTD on PokerStars India has found momentum, and this time too, it surpassed its guarantee. The tournament gathered 167 entries (94 unique and 73 re-entries), collecting a prize pool worth ₹11.69 Lakhs. ‘The AnnihiIator’ came out on top to win ₹2.36 Lakhs in first-place prize money. However, the other high-value event on PokerStars India, The Classic ₹2 Lakhs GTD, suffered a marginal ₹18,500 overlay, via 110 entries (77 unique and 33 re-entries). The event was championed by Dhinesh ‘you3betl4bet’ Kumar who took home ₹45,477, following a heads-up deal with ‘IPPA@PS’ (runner-up for ₹43,649).

9stacks’ unique Thunder ₹5 Lakhs GTD experienced a shortfall of ₹44,000 through 114 entries (69 unique, 27 re-entries, and 18 re-buys). Making good use of the value on offer was Chandan ‘darkfish’ Arora, who trounced the field to collect the title and top prize of ₹1.35 Lakhs. Arora, in fact, ran deep in several events last night, the most notable of which were Adda52’s Melbourne (14th for ₹20,550) and PokerStars India’s Highroller (6th for ₹54,610).

Daily Majors: Anirudh Reddy, Amresh Kumar & Aditya Sushant Tame the Wednesday Majors

A sense of normalcy has set in with order finally restored on the virtual felts. After a week-long slowdown in online action, the last few days have seen steadily increasing numbers and last night was particularly action-packed!

Headlining the Wednesday action was the Spartan Super Series (SSS) on Spartan Poker. The SSS #17 Destiny ₹30 Lakhs GTD was the featured event of the day and lived up to the hype by logging in an impressive 710 entries. The massive turnout helped generate a prize pool of ₹35.50 Lakhs and the lion`s share of that – ₹7.09 Lakhs to be precise, went to Anirudh ‘flash’ Reddy. Talking about Reddy, the Goa-based player does not have one recorded live score to his name, but his online resume tells an entirely different story. Reddy has several significant victories under his belt, and his past exploits include championing the PokerBaazi PPL #28 Value Town ₹15 Lakhs GTD in April for ₹3.04 Lakhs. His most significant victory to-date includes winning the Spartan Poker ‘Two of a Kind’ last month that saw him walking away with a career-best ₹15 Lakhs! Moving over to the other prominent event on Spartan Poker, a player with the moniker ‘ONmyMAC’ championed the SSS #18 Hi-Fi and won ₹1.55 Lakhs.

While the Destiny was undoubtedly the top-performing tournament of the day, the Maverick on Adda52 didn’t fare badly either. The ₹10 Lakhs GTD tourney managed to pull in the requisite numbers and saw ‘yash1993’ topping the field to win ₹2.46 Lakhs. The other featured event, Hexagram ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD on Adda52 was taken down by none other than the in-form Akshay ‘vibaks’ asa for ₹59,897.

On PokerBaazi, The Vegas ₹10 Lakhs GTD was shipped by yet another poker phenom – India`s first bracelet winner Aditya ‘gangajal’ Sushant. It was a very productive day for the Chennai-based pro who along with the ₹2.30 Lakhs he won in The Vegas, also collected ₹26,625 from his 17th place finish in the SSS Destiny. ‘dybalamask’ is the other Baazigar who deserves a special mention for winning the Wednesday SuperStack ₹3 Lakhs GTD, where he defeated another online regular Sriharsha ‘ivey2’ Doddapaneni heads-up, to add ₹90,804 to his bankroll.

With tournament regulars back to the online grind, PokerStars India tourneys did well too last night. The Night on Stars ₹5 Lakhs GTD generating a generous prize pool of ₹5.62 Lakhs and ‘munish bhalla’ eventually snagged the title along with a ₹1.06 Lakhs up top. In the Progressive KO – 4 Max ₹2 Lakhs GTD, ‘kindoa’ emerged victorious, taking home ₹54,363.

Coming to 9stacks, the site’s daily featured tournament StackUp @8PM ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD drew 161 entries, witnessing a marginal overlay of ₹8,500. Amresh ‘Termi’ Kumar was the last player standing in the event and collected ₹65,000 in prize money.

It was also the second consecutive day for the Dangal 100-Max Series on Poker Dangal yesterday, and four more events played down to a winner. Hitting the headlines for the second successive day was none other than Sam ‘Lokimon’ Anand. Anand, who has been once of the most consistent winners recently, championed the biggest Dangal event of the day – the ₹1.5 Lakhs GTD, where he outlasted 107 others to the finish line to win ₹31,800.
