Daily Majors: Kwatra, Boneni & Chowdhury Collect Six-Figure Scores in the Friday Flagships; Chadha Tops Millionaire Lite Day 1A

It’s the weekend now, and the ‘season to be jolly’ is upon us! But before you go about decking the halls with ‘boughs of holly,’ lets quickly take a look at what went down on the virtual felts on Friday.

Spartan Poker’s Spartan Value Series (SVS) that began on December 18 has now entered the home stretch. Friday night marked the start of the star attraction of the series, The Millionaire Lite ₹50 Lakhs GTD. Day 1A of the three-flight event roped in 960 entries (496 unique, 148 re-entries, and 316 re-buys), precisely 34 entries short of the 994 entries on Day 1A at the inaugural Millionaire LITE edition that was taken down by Sreekanth ‘n0thing’ Narayan on December 1. After nearly four hours of play, only 93 stacks were left in the game. The most massive stack of them all belonged to PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer ‘bazzingaa’ Singh Chadha, who bagged 2,44,323 in chips. ‘uttu0501’ (2,17,547) and ‘patea1971’ (2,10,235) rounded out the top three stacks on Day 1A.

A top-notch MTT player, Chadha, had blogged about his efforts towards a healthy lifestyle, and the results are starting to show. He has had a breakout month with deep runs in several marquee tournaments lately, and he was one of the stars of our daily report for winning PokerStars India’s Highroller ₹12 Lakhs GTD on Thursday. He was in blistering form on November 24, where he picked up a total of seven scores, and this included final tabling Spartan Poker’s The Millionaire X5 Edition ₹10 Lakhs GTD To Top 5 Players, where he eventually finished third to win ₹11.05 Lakhs.

Repeating his stellar run from November 24, Chadha yet again picked up five scores last night, four of which were final table finishes:

  • 4th for ₹71,900 in Spartan Poker’s TGIF ₹10 Lakhs GTD
  • 9th for ₹ ₹16,131 in PokerStars India’s Uppercut Progressive KO 6-Max MAGIC Edition ₹10 Lakhs GTD
  • 9th for ₹10,280 in PokerBaazi’s FriYay ₹4 Lakhs GTD
  • 16th for ₹4,521 in PokerBaazi’s Grinders #24 Friday SuperStack ₹3 Lakhs GTD
  • 8th for ₹6,302 in PokerStars India’s The Classic ₹2 Lakhs GTD

Besides The Millionaire Lite, the other big guarantee event on Spartan Poker was The Elite 6-Max ₹25 Lakhs GTD. The tournament registered 221 entries (107 unique, 55 re-entries, and 59 re-buys), falling about ₹2.90 Lakhs short of meeting the posted guarantee. Tournament regular ‘Gal Gadot’ had to fire two bullets to clinch the title, and this included getting past online crusher Guneet ‘guntz’ Kwatra heads-up. The champion locked in ₹4.99 Lakhs following a heads-up chop (not confirmed by site), while Kwatra took home an equally impressive ₹4.75 Lakhs.

TGIF ₹10 Lakhs GTD was another high-value event that hit the Spartan Poker client last night. Sreeharsha ‘yUDdam’ Boneni emerged as the winner to pocket a top prize worth ₹1.47 Lakhs, while Pranay ‘MajhiSatakli’ Chawla finished runner-up for ₹1.30 Lakhs. ‘mumbaifish’ placed third for ₹1.27 Lakhs. The payouts of the top three players suggest a three-way deal.

With Spartan Poker hosting events with such lucrative guarantees, other flagship events of online poker sites were bound to be affected. One such event was PokerBaazi’s FriYay ₹4 Lakhs GTD that logged in 159 entries to be hit by a ₹82,000 shortfall. PokerGuru Ambassador Rony ‘bisadip176’ Chowdhury was the last player standing in the event and took home ₹1.03 Lakhs!

Another player who deserves special mention is ‘FunkeyFox’ who picked up back-to-back titles in Spartan Poker’s SVS #15 Hi-Fi ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.04 Lakhs and Afternoon Hi-Fi ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹66,738, respectively.

Daily Majors: Borhade, Nasa & Chadha Reign Supreme in the Thursday Flagships

Thursday witnessed some crackling action on the virtual felts! Spartan Poker, as usual, hosted the biggest guarantee event last night, the Ultron ₹25 Lakhs GTD. Pulling in 545 entries (246 unique, 112 re-entries, and 187 re-buys), the tournament suffered a significant ₹3.20 Lakhs overlay. Getting the best deal on the massive value on offer was ‘BobbyAxelrod1’ who bested MTT specialist Ayush’ Lazyman’ Garg (runner-up for ₹3.09 Lakhs) heads-up to win ₹5.87 Lakhs.

In fact, Garg was among the standout performers yesterday. After finishing runner-up in Spartan Poker’s Ultron ₹25 Lakhs GTD, he went on to final table two other majors, PokerStars India’s Highroller ₹12 Lakhs GTD (6th for ₹60,680) and 9stacks’ Thunder @7:30 PM ₹5 Lakhs GTD (7th for ₹21,168), respectively.

While Spartan Poker took an overlay hit, Adda52’s Godfather ₹20 Lakhs GTD went above and beyond the advertised guarantee with a prize pool collection of ₹23.45 Lakhs. Tournament regular Vishwanath ‘vish4u2’ Borhade ran past a field of 469 entries (258 unique and 211 re-entries), to win the top prize of ₹5.74 Lakhs.

Similar to Adda52, PokerBaazi was the other domestic network that had a smashing Thursday run. The Summit ₹15 Lakhs GTD collected ₹19.35 Lakhs in prize money through 258 entries (130 unique and 128 re-entries). Poker coach and online phenom Akshay’ sherlock52’ Nasa championed the event to win ₹4.55 Lakhs after defeating an equally accomplished online player Shagun ‘sogani22’ Jain (runner-up for ₹3.19 Lakhs) heads-up! Nasa’s blistering run saw him final tabling Adda52’s Godfather ₹20 Lakhs GTD (7th for ₹64,488) and scoring in PokerStars India’s Highroller ₹12 Lakhs GTD (20th for ₹15,275).

The fight for the PokerStars India Highroller ₹12 Lakhs GTD title came down to a battle between the two PokerGuru Ambassadors Arjanveer’ ballistik310’ Singh Chadha and Rohit’ PillowFight22’ Mishra. Chadha and Mishra agreed to a heads-up chop that saw the former clinch the title, pocketing ₹2.40 Lakhs for his win. Mishra netted ₹2.18 Lakhs for his runner-up finish.

Daily Majors: Devang Yadav, Anuj Yadav, Abhishek Garg & Harsh Dembla Topped the Tuesday Flagships

Tuesday saw the online action picking up steam with the tournament guarantees relatively increasing over what was on offer on Monday. Spartan Poker’s Tuesday run of events was headlined by the Mega Stack ₹20 Lakhs GTD. The tournament garnered 640 entries (282 unique, 136 re-entries, and 222 rebuys), falling about ₹80,000 short of the posted guarantee. Racing ahead of the rest was Devang ‘giraffeganger_1’ Yadav, who defeated ‘CrownUpJr’ heads-up to emerge champion and pad his bankroll by ₹3.88 Lakhs. Yadav was quite the star last year, where he had won two Adda52 Millions’ titles. He had also taken down the IOPC #41 MIB ₹75 Lakhs GTD for ₹14.31 Lakhs this July. Yesterday, he fired three bullets in the Mega Stack and eventually came out on top on his third attempt.

Another ambitious young talent that has been in the spotlight is Anuj ‘brockLesnar95’ Yadav. Yesterday he championed PokerBaazi’s The Endeavour ₹15 Lakhs GTD and bested Young Gun Ujjwal ‘Mr_Robot’ Narwal (runner-up for ₹2.14 Lakhs) heads-up to claim the ₹3.06 Lakhs top prize. Daily Majors: Sharma, Bansal, Yadav, Lakhotia, Kumar & Doddapaneni Thunder Through the Thursday Flagships

The virtual felts were set ablaze with nail-biting action on Thursday as the flagship events at all the major platforms successfully met the guarantees. Spartan Poker has been attracting the biggest crowds for quite some time now, and last night was no different. Consistently coming up with new and innovative tournaments, the tournament-centric brand introduced the Ultron ₹20 Lakhs GTD last night. Sporting a buy-in of ₹4,400, the event locked in 558 entries (250 unique, 122 re-entries and 186 re-buys) that comfortably collected a prize pool worth ₹22.32 Lakhs. Talented young player Vaibhav ‘Nikka Zaildar’ Sharma championed the event and banked an impressive ₹3.76 Lakhs in the process. Sharma also final tabled the Daily Hi-Fi ₹6 Lakhs GTD, finishing fourth for ₹49,500.

The Daily Hi-Fi ₹6 Lakhs GTD was the only high-value event on Spartan Poker yesterday that failed to meet its guarantee and that too with a marginal overlay of around ₹8,000. Seasoned pro Manish ‘thekid’ Lakhotia shipped the event for a winner’s payday of ₹1.27 Lakhs.

Meanwhile, ‘mumbaifish’ championed the Ultimate PLO ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹50,752.

Similar to Spartan Poker, PokerBaazi was the other site that witnessed a lot of action last night as both its big guarantee events easily surpassed their advertised guarantees. While The Summit ₹15 Lakhs GTD posted ₹17.25 Lakhs in the prize pool, the Thursday MonsterStacks ₹5 Lakhs GTD generated a kitty of ₹5.75 Lakhs. Surprisingly, both events logged in 230 entries each! Kolkata-born pro Raghav ‘thatssosick’ Bansal topped The Summit for a colossal ₹4.05 Lakhs, while Prashant ‘Prashant12’ Kumar took down the Thursday MonsterStack ₹5 Lakhs GTD for a ₹1.35 Lakhs payday.

Adda52 was another site that did well. The site’s biggest marquee tournament – Godfather ₹20 Lakhs GTD – sailed past its advertised guarantee with a massive ₹23.05 Lakhs collection, though the Hexagram ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD suffered a slight overlay of ₹8,000. Nagendra Singh ‘gameank123’ Tomar netted a hefty paycheque of ₹5.64 Lakhs after he obliterated the 461-strong entry field (251 unique and 210 re-entries) in the Godfather. Meanwhile, Sandeep ‘homelite’ Rajora, an Indian model and actor who is better known for his work on the hit television serial ‘Kkusum,’ topped the Hexagram for ₹71,250.

PokerStars India’s Thursday signature event – Highroller ₹12 Lakhs GTD – drew in 177 entries (99 unique and 78 re-entries) and crowned a champion in tournament regular Anuj ‘brockLesnar95’ Yadav who added ₹2.46 Lakhs to his bankroll. The Classic ₹2 Lakhs GTD was taken down by ‘picollo1996’ for ₹49,686, following a heads-up chop with ‘Blacknight9769’ (runner-up for ₹46,840).

9stacks’ Thunder @8PM ₹5 Lakhs GTD saw well-known online pro Sriharsha ‘G.O.A.T’ Doddapaneni juggernaut to the top of the field and capture the title, along with ₹1.35 Lakhs in prize money.

Poker Dangal’s Warrior Arena ₹1.5 Lakhs GTD attracted 119 entries (77 unique and 42 re-entries) and found a winner in Surajkumar ‘limper93’ Swathirajan who bagged ₹33,000 for his win.

Besides the winners, PokerGuru Ambassador Nadeem Basha was another top pro who had an eventful day on the online felts and picked up a total of four scores that included two final table finishes. His scorecard read:

  • 9th for ₹26,974 in PokerStars India’s Highroller ₹12 Lakhs GTD
