The IPC Megastacks may be over, but most Indian crowds has reached Hanoi in Vietnam and are pulling big scores at the ongoing World Poker Tour (WPT) Vietnam! Only two days back, the IPC Megastacks ₹60K Main Event runner-up Aditya Sushant grabbed his second WPT trophy in Event #15: PLO. A total of nine Indians made it to Day 2 of the WPT Main Event, with Day 1C chip leader Zarvan Tumboli leading the team!

The biggest story back home on the online felts was the BB#8 EndBoss – India’s biggest online poker tournament but before we come to that, let’s look at how the annual POY standings look. Young Gun Anuj Yadav remained an unbeaten topper for the 12th consecutive week, and he sits with ₹2.10 Crores in annual cashes and a corresponding ₹1.15 Crores in annual profits.

The top three on the annual rankings remain the same. The #2 ranked Young Gun Arsh Grover is proving to be quite the steady runner to the top of the POY standings. In just under a month, Grover has added nearly ₹40 Lakhs to his online scorecard, covering significant distance with the reigning annual topper, Anuj Yadav. With ₹1.97 Crores in annual winnings, Grover will also very soon become the second Indian player to earn over ₹2 Crores this year.

Last week, we mentioned how the inaugural NPS Main Event champion Mohammad Azhar has fast climbed up the rankings on the back of a trailblazing week. Currently ranked #4, Azhar is threateningly close with less than ₹2 Lakhs separately the duo, Azhar sits with ₹1.64 Crores in annual cashes. It’ll be interesting to see whether Ahuja amps up his scorecard or Azhar takes over the coming week!

Now, about the EndBoss! Most Sundays are intense for online regs, but this past Sunday, Jitendra Gadhwal, the 26-year-old IT professional based out of Delhi, triumphed in the humungous 4,948-entry field in the ₹5 Crore GTD event to grab the top prize of ₹1 Crore. Surprisingly, we spoke to Gadhwal the next afternoon, and he was busy working. The IT professional who plays poker recreationally chose not to take a break after the long and tiring Sunday grind that has vaulted him straight to the top of the monthly and the weekly leaderboards!

That’s not all, Gadhwal has leaped the annual profit leaderboards, and with a whopping ₹98.61 Lakhs in profits, he is now ranked second to Anuj Yadav in the profit rankings.

The EndBoss runner-up Eshaan Kapoor ranks #2 on the monthly and weekly charts, with Mohammad Azhar rounding out the top three on the monthly leaderboard. The EndBoss third-place finisher Bhushan Sohani rounds out the podium for the week.

How does it feel to witness the intense poker action on a Sunday that brought on India’s biggest online poker event – the ₹5 Crores GTD EndBoss, and an equally exciting IPC Megastacks? It’s just the start of another action-packed summer for poker enthusiasts!

The week’s biggest story was PokerBaazi’s ₹5 Crores GTD EndBoss crowning a champion in Jitendra Gadhwal! The 26-year-old IT professional from Delhi took down the third edition of India’s biggest online tournament for a life-altering ₹1 Crore. Gadhwal, who leapfrogged in the annual leaderboard, is also the weekly topper and hence our “PokerGuru Star of the Week!

Eshan Kapoor was the second biggest scorer of the week. His runner-up finish in the EndBoss fetched him a career-best ₹60.20 Lakhs. Poker streamer Bhushan Sohani locked in ₹31.40 Lakhs, wrapping up the week with ₹36.65 Lakhs in total winnings.

Delivering a big dollop of live action was the IPC Megastacks at Casino Vegas in Jhapa, Nepal. The series crushed all the past numbers and eventually concluded after Young Gun Siddhanth Kripalani captured the ₹60K Main Event for a personal-best ₹39.72 Lakhs! Kripalani struck a heads-up deal with India’s first WSOP bracelet winner and BPT March 2022 runner-up finisher, Aditya Sushant. Sushant collected a hefty ₹33.50 Lakhs for his another second-place finish.

Gautam Kaul, PokerGuru Ambassador Nadem Basha, Sparsh Gupta, Sandeep Tulsyan also added seven figures in weekly earnings, with Prateek Parakh making it to the top ten list.

With both major live and online series’ wrapping up, the virtual felts have been teeming with news of offers, promotions, and upcoming tournaments.

Online poker sites have started gearing up for the upcoming celebrations. Spartan Poker (and partner sites BLITZPOKER and PokerHigh) have announced the 13th edition of the country’s most prestigious MTT series, the India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) in May end.

MPL Poker’s ₹8 Crores GTD India Poker Festival (IPF) (May 26 – June 5), PokerBaazi’s ₹10 Crores GTD 1100 Texas Hold‘em Championship (THC) (May 31 – June 19), and PokerStars India’s ₹3 Crores GTD Summer Series (June 3 – 13) are enough to keep the MTT players busy.

Cash game players can look forward to PokerBaazi’s ₹5 Crores GTD Cash Royale 2.0 (May 25 – June 23). The brand has also rolled out mega-satellites & deposit offers for the upcoming 1100 THC.

That’s not all! Gamezy Poker’s Gamezy 2.0 Rakeback promotion allows you to accumulate as many points as possible by playing cash games on the app across seven days! Don’t miss the opportunity to redeem as much as ₹50,000 in rakeback every week!

The IPC Megastacks may be over, but WPT’s third live outing in Vietnam and the first-ever WPT Prime Vietnam is busy running tournaments at the Crown Poker Club, Hanoi. Vietnam is a preferred destination for Indian pros. While most of the domestic crowd was busy at the IPC, PokerGuru Ambassador Vishal Bajaj (24th for ₹1.13 Lakhs, Young Gun Gaurav Sood (27th for ₹96,921), and PokerGuru Stakings’ Kartik Ved (44th for ₹70,184) cashed out at the WPT Opener, opening India’s scorecard at the series.

Vietnam’s Tu Phuong Nguyen shipped the WPT Opener for a career-best VND 745,000,000 (~$32,154).

It will blow up at the series, now that many players are heading to Vietnam straight from Jhapa.

Jitendra Gadhwal Clinches India’s Second-Biggest Online Score, Wins ₹5 Crores GTD #BB8 ENDBOSS on PokerBaazi For ₹1 Crore!

The Indian poker community witnessed one of its landmark Sundays yesterday – both live and online. The first-ever IPC Megastacks witnessed electrifying action in Jhapa with Day 2 of the ₹60K Main Event and the 15K Mystery Bounty running in tandem. However, it was PokerBaazi’s ₹5 Crores GTD #BB8 ENDBOSS that set the virtual felts on fire last night.

Like the last two ENDBOSS editions, a relatively lesser-known player, 26-year-old Jitendra Gadhwal from New Delhi, championed the third edition of India’s biggest online poker tournament for a life-changing ₹1 Crore payday! A poker enthusiast who works in the IT sector and plays poker when he can fit in the time, Gadhwal triumphed over a competitive 4,948-entry field – emerging as the second-biggest winner in an online poker tournament in the country. The record for the biggest single score still belongs to Abhishek Maheshwari, the first ENDBOSS champion who banked ₹1,00,15,911.

However, Gadhwal also cashed Adda52’s BTH Ice Cube, rounding up a collective ₹1,00,16,168 in Sunday winnings, edging past Maheshwari as the biggest single-day winner in the country to date. The ENDBOSS victory has boosted Gadhwal’s online scorecard to ₹1.60 Crores, and needless to say, the singular score has pushed him past the ₹1 Crore mark in annual winnings.

#BB8 EndBoss – 5 Crore GTD

Buy-in – 11,000

Total Entries – 3,676

Total Re-entries –1,252

Prize Pool – 5,00,00,000

Places Paid – 634

The third installment of PokerBaazi’s 5 Crore GTD #BB8 EndBoss, India’s biggest online poker tournament, is now in the books!

The 11,000 buy-in event locked in a 4,948-entry field (Day 1A – 860, Day 1B – 840, Day 1C – 828, Day 1D – 1153, and Day 1E Turbo – 1247) across five starting flights, overlaying 7.20 Lakhs (not counting the tournament fees). Six-hundred-and-third-four qualifiers returned for the Day 2 finale on Sunday, all of them assured a min-cash of 20,000.

After seven hours and forty-seven minutes of nail-biting action, the former PPL 6-Max MegaStack winner Jitendra ‘Jeet0’ Gadhwal emerged victorious, netting a life-altering 1 Crore. Eshan ‘eshankapoor’ Kapoor (2nd for 60.20 Lakhs) and poker streamer Bhushan ‘bhushansohani’ Sohani (3rd for 31.40 Lakhs) also bagged career-best payouts, for their podium finishes.

The first-ever ENDBOSS winner, Abhishek Maheshwari, was the first player in Indian online poker history to claim an eight-figure payday, 1,00,15,911, making Jitendra Gadhwal the second-biggest winner ever in the country. Gadhwal posted an FT score in Adda52’s 2.50 Lakhs GTD BTH Ice Cube (5th for 16,168) for 1,00,16,168 in Sunday winnings, penning his name as the biggest single-day winner in the country to date.

Talking about his victory run, Gadhwal admitted, “I still can’t believe it. It will definitely take time to sink in. I’ve been playing for three-four years, mostly on PokerBaazi and mostly tournaments, but never expected a hobby would turn out to be so rewarding.”

Gadhwal who is a BTech in Engineering has been playing poker since 2017. He bagged from Day 1 of the EndBoss. Talking about the heads-up match against Eshan Kapoor, he recalled – “HU was pretty straight forward. I tried to not focus on the amount we were playing for and just play my cards. My opponent was seemingly a bit tight and I wanted to play face up too…the final hand was my top pair of 8 vs his second pair of 4 on 842 board. He raised on the flop I check-jammed, he called and was behind, my pair of 8 held up!”

Sitting with less than six figures in annual winnings on Saturday, Gadhwal`s Sunday jackpot made him the 32nd player on our tracked database to cross 1 Crore in recorded MTT scores in 2022. His online poker stats (PokerBaazi & Adda52): Lifetime Winnings: 1.60 Crores | Lifetime Profits: 1.17 Crores | Annual Winnings: 1.01 Crores | Titles Won in 2022: #2
