Shashank Shekhar Champions Spartan Poker’s XXX Main Event & Ashish Munot Takes Down PokerBaazi’s BTS 2.0 Main Event

It was a smashing Sunday as Spartan Poker’s XXX Poker Series and PokerBaazi’s Baazi Turbo Series 2.0 completed their eight-day-long runs! Expectedly the biggest winners of the day emerged from these two series.

If we had to give an award for the “Player of the Day,” it would undoubtedly go to Shashank Shekhar! After a few near misses in the hunt for his maiden XXX Poker Series title, Shekhar went on a tear yesterday, championing the ₹1.50 Crores GTD XXX #75 Main Event for a jaw-dropping ₹27.35 Lakhs payday (including multiple cashes)! Not content with winning just one title, he took down the XXX #74 for ₹4.63 Lakhs and scored in four more events to post a career-best ₹32.56 Lakhs in winnings. Shekhar’s phenomenal Sunday run also saw him top the XXX Poker Series daily leaderboard race, fetching him ₹25,000 in bonus money!

Goonjan Mall locked in a runner-up payout worth ₹15.65 Lakhs, banking ₹16.91 Lakhs in Sunday winnings through five deep runs.

Besides the XXX #74 Main Event, the only other eight-figure guarantee tournament to play down to a champion last night was PokerBaazi’s ₹1 Crore GTD BTS#45 Main Event. Ashish Munot bagged the bragging right to become the BTS 2.0 Main Event champion, walking away with a ginormous ₹11.64 Lakhs payday.

A heads-up deal saw Rajat Sharma bank ₹10.64 Lakhs in second place, collecting ₹12.16 Lakhs overall through three deep runs.

Young Gun Neel Joshi joined the elite list of winners after shipping PokerBaazi’s (7-Max) BSS Championship for ₹8.07 Lakhs (won ₹9.25 Lakhs overall), following a heads-up deal with Sumit Sapra, who took home ₹7.64 Lakhs for his runner-up finish (won ₹9.24 Lakhs overall).

Rahul Kumar M Jain took down the XXX #72 Sunday Xperience for a career-best ₹7.51 Lakhs after agreeing to a heads-up chop with James Mathews (2nd for ₹6.88 Lakhs).

Deepankur Gupta earned ₹5.88 Lakhs in Sunday winnings through three cashes, including shipping PokerBaazi’s BSS HighRoller for ₹4.51 Lakhs and finishing runner-up in the BTS#42 (6-Max) for ₹98,720.

‘C. Dickens’ (Won XXX #68 for ₹5.48 Lakhs), Young Gun Devang Yadav (Won XXX #71 Sunday Xtreme – Triple Chance for ₹1.70 Lakhs), and Vinay Choudhry (XXX #76 for ₹90,019) claimed the last of the XXX Poker Series titles.

Siddharth Ojha (Won BTS#43 Sunday Prime for ₹3.24 Lakhs), ‘fartonuraces’ (Won BSS#41 for ₹2.59 Lakhs), Satyam Verma (Won BTS#44 After Party for ₹1.85 Lakhs), and Akshay Joshi (Won BTS#42 (6-Max) for ₹1.42 Lakhs) captured the final Baazi Turbo Series 2.0 titles.

Vaibhav Sharma was the last player standing in PokerStars India’s Sunday Special (PKO), netting ₹3.71 Lakhs in top prize (won ₹6.58 Lakhs overall).

Nevertheless, MTT players get only a brief respite for the second edition of Spartan Poker’s India Turbo Masters takes off on Friday, September 23, guaranteeing over ₹8 Crores in value and 65 fast-paced events.

Snehil Aggarwal (opted out of our tracking) has been on a roll off late. After posting runner-up finishes in two headline tournaments in the last five days, he finally went the distance in Spartan Poker’s The Rainmaker last night, banking the day`s single-biggest score worth ₹2.12 Lakhs. The former FTS – Supreme winner Deepak Singh stood second for ₹1.42 Lakhs (won ₹1.77 Lakhs overall).

PokerBaazi loyalist ‘Ronywalker’ championed the site’s Monday headliner, The Big Show, for ₹2.19 Lakhs after striking a heads-up deal with Mandar Madaye (2nd for ₹2.06 Lakhs). Both players posted their site-best scores in the event. Madaye made another FT run in PokerStars India`s Battle Royale and topped the Monday charts with ₹2.23 Lakhs in total winnings.
