Wilson Yomso Becomes the 18th MoneyMaker Champion; Wins PokerBaazi`s #BB5 MoneyMaker For ₹17.45 Lakhs
The Sunday flagships made for an eventful day for online MTT players, and PokerBaazi’s BB#5 MoneyMaker stole the spotlight. It turned out to be a terrific day for PokerGuru Staking, with two team members (incidentally both part of the PSL – Season 4 champions Kolkata Kings) bagging titles – and their mentor Aditya Agarwal!
Headlining the list was winners was Wilson Yomso, who became the 18th MoneyMaker winner on PokerBaazi, and took home a glorious ₹17.45 Lakhs payday. Karan Mehta finished runner-up for ₹12.22 Lakhs.
India’s poker pioneer, Aditya Agarwal, made a stunning comeback to the virtual felts by taking down Spartan Poker’s Sunday Superstack for ₹7.91 Lakhs. Armaan Kochhar finished runner-up for ₹5.32 Lakhs.
The #2 ranked player of the year, Young Gun Arsh Grover, took down the Adda52 Millions for the second time for ₹7.40 Lakhs, becoming the second player after Young Gun Anuj Yadav to cross ₹1.50 Crores in annual winnings.
Aditya Agarwal’s mentees, PokerGuru Ambassadors Ashish Ahuja and Arjanveer Singh Chadha battled it out for PokerBaazi’s BSS SuperStack title. Ahuja claimed the title and top prize of ₹5.29 Lakhs, while his good friend and flatmate Chadha walked away with ₹3.71 Lakhs in second place.
‘ps pro vegas’ (anonymity requested) won PokerStars India’s Sunday Special (On-time Rake Refund) for a personal-best ₹2.81 Lakhs, while Abhishek Garg shipped the Sunday Highroller (On-time Rake Refund) for ₹2.60 Lakhs.
Ram Kakkar defended his Nano Main Event title on Adda52, bagging ₹2.81 Lakhs up top, following a four-way deal with Akshay Asawa (2nd for ₹2.74 Lakhs), Sanjay Kumar (3rd for ₹2.73 Lakhs), and ‘piyush0657’ (4th for ₹2.51 Lakhs).

PokerBaazi had a lot of big announcements this week. Besides hosting one of India’s biggest online tournaments, the EndBoss 2021, as a part of its seventh-anniversary celebrations, the brand also announced Pratibha Arya as its newest Baazi Gaming Pro.
Not to be left behind, Spartan Poker and PokerStars India also had attractive offers and tournaments up their sleeves. While Spartan Poker is presently running the ₹15 Lakhs GTD PLO Leaderboard (October 18 -24), PokerStars India rolled out a 10-week long “Tournament Festival” promising over ₹20 Crores in guaranteed prizes (October 18 to December 26).

The other bracelet winners were Ryan Leng, Michael Noori, Ran Koller, Jim Collopy, Anthony Koutsos, Michael Prendergast, Ryan Stoker, and David Baker.
In other news, the Bombay High Court upheld the decision of the Goa government to ban the entry of local to casinos after dismissing a petition challenging the restriction.
The list of 10 finalists of the 2021 class of the Poker Hall of Fame (PHoF) was also announced recently. Bertrand Grospellier, Michael Mizrachi, and Layne Flack are the new additions this year. The official announcement for the 60th inductee to the PHoF will be made on November 17 during the new WSOP Hall of Fame Bounty tournament.

Ved, traveling to Las Vegas to attend the WSOP, emerged triumphant in Spartan Poker’s recent launch, the ₹50 Lakhs GTD The Prestige, where he toppled the 1,049-strong field to claim the title and ₹9.70 Lakhs. Overall, Ved’s online bankroll grew by ₹14.74 Lakhs this week.

WSOP 2021
The ongoing 2021 World Series of Poker (WSOP) has completed 20 days. The series has made a fall run for the first time, chiefly owing to the pandemic. While several events ran to a conclusion this week, the brand drew cheers after it announced that due to the ease of travel restrictions for international players flying into the US, it will be adding two more opening flights to the WSOP Main Event, bringing the total number of starting days for the event to six.
Poker legend Phil Hellmuth was the biggest story at the WSOP this week. The poker brat is off to a trailblazing start at the WSOP and added a record-extending 16th WSOP bracelet after trouncing a field of 272 entries to win Event #31:$1,500 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw for $84,851.
