Daily Majors: Amarjeet Singh, Rahul Pruthi & Kartik Ved Conquered the Wednesday Flagships
The action picked up at Spartan Poker on Wednesday, where the SSS #17 Destiny ₹35 Lakhs GTD played out as part of the site’s ongoing Spartan Super Series (SSS). A total of 668 players (287 unique, 161 re-entries, and 220 rebuys) came in to play, but still, there was a shortfall of ₹1.60 Lakhs. It took a little over eight hours for Amarjeet ‘superchor89’ Singh to come out on top. Singh defeated Sasi ‘sasikiranx’ Kiran heads-up to win ₹7.54 Lakhs. With the win, he has also secured his berth for the Destiny 12.0 SnG Finale that is to take place on January 12, 2020, and will reward the top three winners free packages to Las Vegas.
Like the Destiny, the Wednesday flagship on PokerBaazi – G.O.A ₹20 Lakhs GTD had a bit of a tough time filling in the guarantee. The site had to cough up a ₹1.05 Lakhs shortfall, and it all came down to Rahul ‘YOUAGAIN’ Pruthi, who ran past Rachit ‘rachubaba’ Arora (runner-up for ₹2.67 Lakhs) heads-up to walk away with the ₹3.70 lakhs top prize.
The PokerGuru team of ambassadors have been consistent winners across platforms. Adding to the team’s tally of wins last night was veteran player, Kartik ‘TheInternetKid’ Ved. The seasoned pro has had a slew of deep runs online, and his most recent achievements include shipping PokerBaazi’s PMVS #19 ₹12 Lakhs GTD on December 8. His stellar run on December 1 saw him finish runner-up in both PokerStars India’s Sunday Special (L) ₹10 Lakhs GTD and Adda52’s Big Slick ₹15 Lakhs GTD respectively.

Sunday Online Railbird Report: Akkina is the 41st Millionaire; Temani, Kukreja, Labroo & Mall the Other Big Winners
It was a Sunday night to remember with two tournament powerhouses both coming out all guns blazing to dish out the biggest guarantees! Dominating the action on Spartan Poker was The Millionaire Legends ₹2 Crores GTD. The event brought in 755 entries (Day 1A – 271, Day 1B – 184, Day 1C – 300) across it`s three opening flights and 130 of them (Day 1 A – 41, Day 1B – 35 and Day 1C – 54) returned to play Day 2 on Sunday. We have seen The Millionaire editions make eight millionaires in November alone with Sreekanth Narayan becoming the first millionaire in December. This time is was seasoned online pro Phanindra ‘k9akkin’ Akkina, who came out on top to become the second December millionaire and the first player to win two Millionaire editions. No stranger to The Millionaire Champions’ club – Akkina had in 2017 taken down one of The Millionaire editions for ₹20 Lakhs. Yesterday he stormed into the final table and made his way to the heads-up showdown with Akash ‘Akash0510’ Gupta.Gupta is another pro with an excellent online scorecard, but Akkina proved dominant to capture his second Millionaire title for a jaw-dropping ₹41.33 Lakhs payday! Gupta banked an equally impressive ₹32.57 Lakhs for his runner-up finish.
In addition to the two finalists, the tournament made two more millionaires in Young Gun Arsh ‘BigggTymeR’ Grover (3rd for ₹22.78 Lakhs and 50th for ₹50,000) and Sriharsha ‘Fish2050’ Doddapaneni (4th for ₹12 Lakhs and 80th for ₹48,000) respectively. There was decent value on offer as well, with an overlay of ₹11.25 Lakhs. Like in the past Millionaire Editions, many pros scored more than once.
The other Spartan Sunday flagship was the Sunday SuperStack ₹40 Lakhs GTD. With 744 hopefuls (321 unique, 163 re-entries, and 260 rebuys) signing up to play, here too, there was a shortfall of ₹2.80 Lakhs. Racing ahead of the rest was one of our former Young Guns and the 2017 DPT Main Event champion Kavish ‘Dietchips’ Kukreja, who defeated Goonjan ‘gmtesting’ Mall heads-up to clinch the title and ₹7.72 Lakhs in prize money.
Mall is one player who has been a consistent winner across platforms, and on his day, he almost always hits the jackpot! Yesterday turned out to be just one of those days. Not content with taking 2nd place finish in the SuperStack, he bounced back in PokerBaazi’s Baazi Super Sunday (BSS) SuperStack ₹25 Lakhs GTD. Mall ran past a field of 548 entries (321 unique and 227 re-entries) to collect the biggest slice of the ₹27.40 Lakhs prize pool kitty worth ₹5.32 Lakhs.
While The Millionaire grabbed most of the eye-balls, a lot was going on at PokerBaazi as well. The ongoing PokerBaazi Monthly Value Series (PMVS) saw an astounding 10 events crown champions yesterday. One of the featured highlights was the PMVS Main Event ₹50 Lakhs GTD. Running from December 4 to 7, the event clocked in 789 unique entries and was championed by Vaibhav ‘vane_shado’ Temani, who added a massive ₹8.61 Lakhs to his bankroll.
The other big guarantee event on PokerBaazi last night was the PMVS Mega Value Main Event ₹20 Lakhs GTD. The event drew 1,172 entries via four starting flights. PokerGuru Ambassador Rohit ‘rohit22m’ Mishra eventually walked away with the title and winner’s cheque worth ₹3.51 Lakhs.

The Millionaire Legends ₹2 Crores GTD – Spartan Poker
Entries – 755
Prize Pool – ₹2,00,00,000
Places Paid – 120
The Millionaire Legends ₹2 Crores GTD attracted 755 entries (Day 1A – 271, Day 1B – 184, Day 1C – 300) over three starting flights. Only 130 (Day 1 A – 41, Day 1B – 35 and Day 1C – 54) of them could make it through to Day 2, and this number included 104 unique entries.
Topping the field to join the Millionaire champions club was a well-known circuit regular Phanindra ‘k9akkin’ Akkina. Akkina is one name we had last reported at the Baazi Poker Tour (BPT) in October. While he bricked that series, he has a fantastic 2018 to look back at. His 2018 scorecard reads of three major titles that include two Destiny titles. He had won Destiny 3.0 for ₹5.30 Lakhs last year in June and Destiny 6.0 the same year in October for ₹5.62 Lakhs. But his most prominent score of the year was at the SSS#35 Main Event ₹35 Lakhs GTD that he won for a hefty ₹21.6 Lakhs, in September.
At the Millionaire, Akkina defeated Akash ‘Akash0510’ Gupta heads-up to win a whopping ₹41.33 Lakhs payday!
The event has made three more millionaires. Gupta who finished runner-up collected ₹32.57 Lakhs, Arsh ‘BigggTymeR’ Grover took 3rd place for ₹22.78 Lakhs, and 50th for ₹50,000. Sriharsha ‘Fish2050’ Doddapaneni (4th for ₹12 Lakhs, 80th for ₹48,000) was another who added a seven-figure score to his bankroll.
The tournament fell short of meeting its guarantee by ₹11.25 Lakhs. With only 120 places assured a payout, 10 players went back disappointed.
Many others, however, had carried multiple stacks forward and were able to score more than once.
Sanat ‘mehro2511’ Mehrotra (5th for ₹8 Lakhs) was the other notable on the final table.
