Daily Majors: Armaan Kochhar, Vivek Karwa & Sagar Choudhury Crush the Monday MTTs

A predictably slow Monday was plagued with a majority of the flagships facing overlay woes. The dazzling performances of Armaan Kochhar, Vivek Karwa, and Sagar Choudhury brought in some excitement to what was otherwise a dull day on the virtual felts.

Here’s a recap of last night’s flagships.

Spartan Poker

The 10 Lakhs GTD ReCharge headlined the Monday marquees on Spartan Poker and pulled in 476 entries, overlaying 48,000. The mystery user Rajarshi ‘Raj@19911′ Biswas padded his bankroll by 1.70 Lakhs after a heads-up chop with ‘onlywinner007’ (runner-up for 1.46 Lakhs). The champion presently has 8.11 Lakhs in recorded earnings on Spartan Poker, but they are still in the red for 99,120.

The other big-ticket tourney running on the site, the 5.50 Lakhs GTD The Flash, fared no better than the ReCharge. After logging in 514 entries, the 1,100 entry buy-in event still had to fill in an overlay of 36,000. ‘Mr. Bean’ topped the field to win 96,850, following a heads-up deal with ‘@Valmiki@’ (runner-up for 78,435).

Adda52

Kicking off the Monday action on Adda52 was the 10 Lakhs GTD Inception that suffered an overlay of 1.36 Lakhs on the back of 270 entrants. After nearly seven hours of play, Armaan ‘tandavam’ Kochhar came out on top and banked the 2.08 Lakhs top prize. Kochhar seems to be in unstoppable form lately. He was coming in fresh from a blockbuster Sunday, where he shipped the 25 Lakhs GTD Adda52 Millions for 6.86 Lakhs and final tabled the Nano Highroller (8th for 32,789), banking 7.19 Lakhs in cumulative earnings. His Monday night run has moved him up one place to #6 on the weekly leaderboard.

Vivek ‘victor2coolsmart’ Karwa finished runner-up for 2.06 Lakhs following a heads-up deal. Site regular ‘Reg_Slayer’ rounded out the top three finishes, placing third for 1.16 Lakhs. At the same time, Sunday night’s ₹1 Crore GTD The Millionaire runner-up Sagar ‘alwaysnutz’ Choudhury came in fourth for 85,000.

The 3 Lakhs GTD Hexagram attracted 134 participants and experienced an overlay of 32,000. ‘rohit010587’ took down the event for 84,750, just as ‘ICMsucks’ finished runner-up for 55,500.

PokerBaazi

PokerBaazi’s Monday night extravaganza, the 10 Lakhs GTD The Bout, witnessed Armaan ‘Armaan007’ Kochhar fighting to claim his second title of the night. He came excruciatingly close, ultimately losing the heads-up battle to ‘Missbluff’. The eventual winner netted 2.10 Lakhs in first-place prize money, while Kochhar increased his bankroll by 1.47 Lakhs, taking his cumulative Monday winnings to 3.55 Lakhs.

The Bout registered 363 contenders, but it wasn’t enough to avoid a shortfall of 92,500. The top 45 runners received payouts, and this once again included Sagar ‘sagarpupul’ Choudhury, who, posting his second FT score yesterday, placed third for 94,500. His overall Monday score stood tall at 1.79 Lakhs.

PokerBaazi’s 2 Lakhs GTD Grinders#4 Monday MegaStack was taken down by ‘arun12raj,’ who raced past a 114-entry field and pocketed 53,600 in cash prize. The event suffered an overlay of 29,000.

PokerStars India

PokerStars India faced some technical difficulties due to which a majority of its ongoing Monday tourneys had to be canceled.

The 5 Lakhs GTD Eliminator was the day`s featured tourney and clocked in 295 entries, collecting a prize pool of 4.42 Lakhs. Forty-seven players were assured payouts. After the technical glitch caused the game to be canceled mid-way, the prize pool seems to have been distributed among the 47 remaining players. Guruprasad ‘fishcalling1’ Gupta held the most giant stack when the game was halted, receiving the most significant payout of 17,154 (12,936 in prize money and 4,218 in bounties).

The 1.5 Lakhs GTD Deepstack was also canceled; however, ‘raghav1990’ bagged the biggest payday of 6,248.

The second edition of PokerStars India’s Twenty20 Rush also commenced last night but was also affected by the technical issues. The 50K GTD TWENTY20 RUSH Time Tourney brought in 60 entries, falling 8,000 short of the break-even mark. The 90-minutes long event was shipped by ‘sakht8’ for 14,812.

Due to the events getting canceled last night, the “Star of the Month” Week #2 Leaderboard standing remained unchanged, with ‘muttonmm’ (741 points) at the top. While Neeraj Kumar (624 points) and ‘jul1u592’ (584 points) retaining their second and third spots, respectively.
