Daily Majors: Khandelwal, Narwal, Patel & Wadhawan Champion the Thursday Flagships

The action keeps picking up the pace as we get closer to the weekend. While the first few days this week saw the flagships marred with overlays, Thursday had most of the marquees surpassing their listed guarantees.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at what went down yesterday!

Spartan Poker

Thursday was much better in terms of turnouts for Spartan Poker as the day’s signature tourney, the ₹18 Lakhs GTD Ultron, accumulated a ₹18.20 Lakhs prize pool on the back of 455 entries. Playing under the moniker ‘PAPITO,’ Yohan Patel took down the event and claimed the top prize worth ₹3.64 Lakhs, while runner-up Rajat ‘BloatedBelly’ Mahajan settled for a ₹2.39 Lakhs payout.

Patel’s last title win had come in PokerBaazi’s ₹20 Lakhs GTD The Summit on August 27. Last night’s win was a welcome one for the player who now has ₹1.61 Crores in recorded online earnings.

The Freezeout Master Series (FMS) hit the ground running last night, and the ₹3.75 Lakhs GTD FMS#4 was one of the marquee events on offer. The tourney suffered a ₹60,000 deficit after logging in 105 runners. Young Gun Shardul ‘Faucet Failure’ Parthasarathi emerged victorious and took home ₹95,813 in first-place prize money, after besting ‘karanmangla’ who received ₹66,000 for their runner-up finish.

Sharma, Ved, Goyal & Chawla Bank Seven-Figure Scores in the Sunday Flagships

It was a blockbuster Sunday that saw Spartan Poker’s Grand Poker Series (GPS) closing out another smashing edition with Apratim Sharma emerging as the GPS Main Event champion, banking ₹34.24 Lakhs up-top. Adda52’s Full House Finale that had been interrupted last week due to technical difficulties, also culminated last night, crowning a winner in anonymous user ‘capricorn_3’ who took home ₹22 Lakhs.

Without further ado, let’s check out what went down last night!

Spartan Poker

The second edition of the GPS series wrapped up last night on Spartan Poker, and the biggest draw of the day was the ₹2 Crores GTD GPS Main Event. The ₹11,000 buy-in tourney has been running since September 11, with the fourth and final starting flight starting at 4 PM on Sunday afternoon. A total of 1,950 entries registered for the event. However, that wasn’t enough to meet the event’s ambitious guarantee, and the site had to fill in an overlay of ₹5 Lakhs. Day 2 saw 269 runners returning to contend for the top prize, and following the elimination of Akash ‘Akash05’ Gupta in 264th place, the remaining 263 players locked in a min-cash of ₹20,200.

Apratim ‘checm@te’ Sharma became the first-ever GPS Main Event champion and won the grand prize of ₹34.24 Lakhs. He battled through a reg-infested final table that comprised of Pulkit ‘Championplayer’ Goyal (3rd for ₹13.32 Lakhs), Manish ‘thekid’ Lakhotia (5th for ₹7.73 Lakhs), PokerGuru Ambassador Vishal ‘CrownUpJr’ Bajaj (8th for ₹3.32 Lakhs) and Rahul ‘Rahul2646’ Kabade (9th for ₹2.54 Lakhs).

Sharma locked horns with PokerGuru Ambassador Kartik ‘TheInternetKid’ Ved in the heads-up play, with the latter settling for a runner-up finish worth ₹19.08 Lakhs. He also placed 8th in the tourney for ₹3.32 Lakhs, collecting ₹22.40 Lakhs in total!

While the GPS Main Event did steal most of the attention last night, Spartan Poker’s Sunday signature tournament, the ₹40 Lakhs GTD GPS – Grand Sunday Superstack, had an eventful run as well. Locking in 820 contenders, the tourney surpassed its listed guarantee to post a ₹41 Lakhs prize pool. Well-known reg Manish ‘potlords’ Gandhi trailblazed to the top of the field and captured the title for ₹6.51 Lakhs, after a heads-up chop with ‘ephemeral’ who received a second-place payout worth ₹6.38 Lakhs.

The ₹13 Lakhs GTD GPS#55 Money Heist, unfortunately, did not fare as well as the GPS – Grand Sunday Superstack. The ₹3,300 buy-in event logged in 400 entries and overlaid ₹1 Lakh. Online reg Kanav ‘SneakyBlinders’ Parwal championed the event for ₹2.23 Lakhs following a three-way deal with Spartan Poker regular ‘whodahellru1’ (runner-up for ₹1.70 Lakhs) and ‘Daakudaddy’ (3rd for ₹1.66 Lakhs)!

Adda52

The ₹1 Crore GTD Full House Finale finally completed its run on Adda52 yesterday. The tournament had kicked off last week, but the final starting flight, Day 1F and Day 2, had to be rescheduled due to a technical difficulty. Day 1F attracted 603 entries, making for a total player pool of 1,779 entries. The event could only muster ₹88.95 Lakhs in the prize pool, overlaying ₹11.05 Lakhs. The mystery user ‘capricorn_3’ obliterated the competition and banked a mouth-watering ₹22 Lakhs in first-place prize money. Seasoned pro Pranay ‘setmeup’ Chawla finished runner-up for ₹12.20 Lakhs.

The Sunday staple tourney on PokerBaazi, the ₹25 Lakhs GTD BSS SuperStack, experienced a shortfall of ₹3.5 Lakhs on the back of 430 entries. Following almost nine hours of intense play, Jayant ‘hiker53’ Darokar emerged victorious and claimed ₹5.30 Lakhs. ‘Jatin.ahuja’ came in second for ₹3.52 Lakhs. With this win, Darokar has accumulated ₹12.95 Lakhs in recorded earnings on PokerBaazi.

The other marquee event on offer was the ₹8 Lakhs GTD BSS MegaStack. The ₹2,750 buy-in tourney logged in 290 entries, falling ₹75,000 short of its proposed guarantee. Mukesh ‘silentkid’ Ahuja won the event for ₹1.76 Lakhs, after besting ‘nammy09’ (runner-up for ₹1.24 Lakhs) heads-up.

The first-ever BPT Main Event champion Puneet ‘neo1’ Dua, deserves special mention for final tabling both events. He finished eighth in the BSS SuperStack for ₹67,000 and placed seventh in the BSS MegaStack for ₹29,440.

This past Sunday was no different as the site’s two-day extravaganza, the ₹50 Lakhs GTD INCOOP-103 Hercules, overlayed a massive ₹15.42 Lakhs on the back of 494 entries.
