It’s another Monday, and bringing us a dose of #MondayMotivation is Shagun Jain from Jaipur, an online cash game and tourney regular & Spartan Poker’s latest ‘The Millionaire’ champion!

Coincidentally, Shagun Jain is good friends with the National Poker Series champion Mohammad Azhar, who had made the cover of last week’s Monday Motivation feature. When Jain met him after the NPS earlier this week, he told Azhar, “Ab mereko mili ship karna hai iss Sunday, 2 saal ka hisab pura karunga!”

And true to his words, Jain took down the Millionaire for a bankroll boosting ₹17.38 Lakhs last night. The former Game Changer 2.0 champion had carried multiple stacks to Day 2 and cashed on all of them for a whopping ₹17.89 Lakhs (1st for ₹17.38 Lakhs, 31st for ₹39,300, and 186th for ₹11,700). He also placed runner-up in Adda52`s Sunday Showdown for ₹1.54 Lakhs, adding a hefty ₹19.52 Lakhs in Sunday winnings.

Shagun Jain is an old hand in the game who started his poker journey over a decade ago (2009) by playing free games on Zynga Poker. Hailing from a prominent business family of Jaipur, Jain has been working with his father in his business for almost four years now. And even though the business is where he devotes most of his working hours, Jain has been playing poker semi-professionally on the side.

He started by honing his skills playing NLHE cash games at stakes of ₹50/₹100 – ₹250/₹500 while grinding most of the Sunday and weekday flagships across all major online sites.

Jain`s efforts have paid off handsomely, and even though we do not have an account of his cash game exploits, in online MTTs alone, he has raked in over ₹4.28 Crores in total winnings (excluding his Adda52 scores), ₹2.13 Crores of that in profits. He is best remembered for taking down the guarantee-crushing Game Changer 2.0 on PokerBaazi almost two years ago for ₹40.78 Lakhs!

Sharing his views on the future prospects of his poker journey, he elaborates, “I plan to continue grinding the same games and hope to be putting in more volume now across multiple gaming portals.”

A big shoutout to Shagun Jain and the smashing performance he pulled off last night!
