On Republic Day in 2020, PokerBaazi CEO Navkiran Singh had announced the National Poker Series (NPS), a national-level poker tournament series curated for the low/mid-stakes players with affordable buy-ins. Staying true to its slogan #AbIndiaKhelegaPoker, the vision of the series is to encourage new poker talents and help them become the next poker superstars of the country.

The inaugural NPS was to be held at the PokerBaazi LIVE poker room in Goa onboard Casino Pride 2 from April 30 – May 5. The five-event series featured buy-ins ranging from as low as ₹4,000, going up all the way to ₹25,000. The showstopper event at the series was to be the ₹15K Main Event. But the global crisis arising out of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic forced the organizers to postpone the series.

In the third week of April 2021, it was announced that the NPS would be making its digital debut on PokerBaazi, from June 13 to 27. The series guarantees a jaw-dropping ₹15 Crores across 64 tourneys along with an additional ₹1 Crore in leaderboard prizes!

Headlining the action will be the 3 Crores GTD NPS Main Event that features an entry buy-in of ₹5,500. Three more NPS events are sporting an eight-figure prize pool guarantee, but the one that`s bound to get the most coverage is the NPS Golden Rush. For the first time in India, a ₹550 entry buy-in will be sporting a ₹1 Crore prize pool GTD.

The NPS is being branded as a national-level competition, the “Olympics of Indian Poker,” where the top three finishers of each tourney win Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals, respectively. A total of 192 medals will be awarded through the 15-day-long extravaganza. Furthermore, the top three players who collect the maximum Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be penned as the NPS’s first-ever podium medalists. They will also receive Las Vegas packages worth a total of ₹20 Lakhs.

The hunt for glory doesn’t end with the NPS. Winners of seven featured NPS events and the Series Leaderboard topper will converge at the PokerBaazi Live poker room onboard the Casino Pride in Goa for a live SNG, the “Night of Champions.” The winner of the SNG will walk away as the first-ever NPS “Champion of Champions,” collecting a paycheque worth ₹10 Lakhs!
