This is not how you win a poker tournament.
You don’t show up to a high-profile invitational, pull up a five-minute YouTube tutorial while the other players are taking their seats, and then run over a field of celebrities, athletes, and poker regulars. You don’t agree to play the final heads-up match completely blind, shoving your chips in without looking at your cards. And you definitely don’t walk away with a $20,000 top prize, a custom championship belt, and a bottle of Louis XIII cognac just a few hours after learning the basics of the game.
But on Friday night in Las Vegas, at the 14th edition of the Celebrity Poker Tour, social media personality Influencer King (cover image) did exactly that. In a performance that defied logic, strategy, and poker convention, the high-energy content creator, known for his viral dating advice videos, delivered a performance that will be a long-standing chapter in CPT folklore.

The CPT Invitational VII, held at the prestigious PokerGO Studio, was a classic Las Vegas spectacle. The room was buzzing, with an open bar and a guest list that included UFC fighters Colby Covington and Tito Ortiz and the entire Chrisley family of reality TV fame. The event brought together a motley crew of over 50 personalities from every corner of the entertainment world, all vying for the same prize.
Among them were former CPT champions, including Princess Love, who won the second-ever CPT Invitational and content creator Bryce Hall. With a field this diverse, the action was unpredictable from the start.
NBA champion Jason Terry hit the rail early, only to immediately buy back in. Magician Pete A. Sciarrino paused the game at his table to perform a beer bottle trick that left his opponents speechless, while contortionist Sofie Dossi made her trademark flexible entrance at the feature table.
But amidst all the chaos, the story of the night belonged to King. With 1.90 Million Instagram followers, he is known for radiating a unique brand of confidence, a vibe he brought to the poker table in spades. “I’m feeling so happy, but I’m so shocked because I came here not knowing how to play poker,” he admitted to PokerNews after his win. “I watched a five-minute introduction on YouTube…and I just followed my intuition and my knowledge that I picked up today. And I pulled it off.”

His unlikely journey to the title was capped off by a final table that included some serious names. After the double elimination of Bryce Hall and Savanah Chrisley, the final eight included 24kGoldn, UFC middleweight Paulo Costa, and NFL pro John Johnson III. But the most surreal moment came in the final showdown against professional dancer Alan Bersten.
With the championship on the line, King and Bersten agreed to throw strategy out the window, moving all-in blind hand after hand. After a few dramatic double-ups, the chips were all in King’s corner. It took him a moment to realize he had won. “I really didn’t know,” he confessed.
For Bersten, it was a near-miss in his own unlikely run. For King, it was a victory that was as shocking as it was entertaining. When asked for dating advice for poker players, the master of confidence kept it simple: “Be confident. Go to the gym, get in shape, and work on your confidence, face your giants.”
It was a fittingly enigmatic end to a night that once again proved that anything can happen in poker.
